I'm pretty sure I had parker as a favorite before that fight and I am also sure that there were a lot of people talking about him being shot, helenius taking a dive etc.

But apparently general consensus at the time was top 5.

I mean, Parker has at least finally transformed himself into a top level fighter even if that's partly attributable to other top guys falling off. That's something Chisora has never been at any point in his career.

 

Just trying to angle for the fight imo.

No one had Parker as a favorite. Wilder was not viewed as shot. The fight was regarded as a formality as reflected in the betting odds before Day of Reckoning.

No one accused Helenius of taking a dive. That is ridiculous. The aftermath of that KO was horrifying.

Absolutely not what the article said. It's actually just Teddy rambling on about how old fighters tend to go out badly in boxing because they don't have it anymore. He'd rather see Usyk not suffer a bad night and instead go out undefeated.

Nothing whatsoever about saving face or anything to do with him not choosing immediately to face Parker. But of course you knew that. Your hate boner for Usyk is just creepy at this point. No hate boner for usyk and unlike some users here i do not spill "hate speech" . I do not insult him or any users here , i do not wish anybody something bad .

I stay on the subject and link relevant media news on the topic , comment latest news. The fact i,m not a blind fanboy but take a sober look at it has nothing in common of being a "hater" . In fact i respect usyk ( and any other athlete ) but speak out that his latest avoiding of a mandatory defence against parker is imho foul play and his injury seems more than fishy . Not more , not less.

Not sure if this is credible source , but it says that WBO will not enforce title defence at least until end of 2025 .

If true, than :

- usyk will not vacate
- usyk will not fight
- WBC and IBF cannot enforce title defences since WBO is first in line
- no belts on the market , no world title fights
