Instead of fighting Berbick for the belt, he fights prime Quarry. What happens next?

Oh God no. Would be a massacre. Jesus. No. Anyone who would even sanction it should not be allowed to work in a boxing commission again.

Are you a sadist? Jerry was tough as teak and wouldn’t back down but nobody who leads with his face is going to be competitive with anything close to prime Tyson.

Yeah. I would fear for Tyson’s safety tbh

And we are not even talking prime Quarry here. We are talking an old Quarry who was 13 years past his prime.

Jerry Quarry was an excellent contender who demonstrated ample skill and ability in the ring. But for stylistic reasons this is a terrible fight for him. Tyson’s incredible hand speed, upper body movement, combinations and power would leave Quarry with no options. I’m thinking this ends early.

Quarry did very well against punchers. But I think Mikes power combines w his skills is to much. Much like the Frazier fights.

Quarry would struggle with the Tyson who lost to Kevin McBride.

He ends up like Steve Zouski. Tough, but overmatched. Tyson in 3.

Quarry, even in his prime, would be battered. It would be worse than his 2nd fight with Frazier. Tyson started so fast and Jerry was there to be hit. Less than 3 rounds. Possibly over in 1

Quarry is a very good inside hooker. He was favourite to beat Frazier and gave a good account of himself. Tyson has to be a solid favourite but Quarry is not out of it completely since he is competent inside himself. He also has more heart than Tyson and his chin is solid. I think Tyson has to be the choice because he will land his power hooks and Quarry would look very slow in there against prime Mike

Quarry is a fighter with unusual toughness and a great chin.
Mike Tyson is the 2nd best offensive heavyweight in history.
This fight could actually end up fatally for Quarry.
His relative small size, over the top toughness
and competitive spirit, yet in every other aspect
    of boxing he's severely outclassed.
Tyson by brutal stoppage with in four rounds.
The only reason it may go that long is Quarry's
    ability to absorb punishment.
Which in my opinion would be a very bad
attribute to have against an offensive juggernaut
like Mike Tyson, or Joe Louis.
