Fury Wilder II was very satisfying. Especially looking at the meltdown Wilder and his fanboys had after. Some of the greatest excuses and conspiracy theories emerged.
Another good one especially since before the fight idiot Kellerman told us Glass Jaw Judah was “Sweet Pea with power”
donaire being a sort of unknown as well. arguably overshadowed by his brother who was put in the hospital by vic previously...i mean that is some anime/excalibur,legend of king Arthur sort of story. also Darchinyan was really well regarded at the time. feared even. when jermain taylor was left with no opponants it was ****ing darchinyan who almost called up and wanted a go. also a reminder forever more....don't lead with a rear uppercut.
personal one if we are counting interim titles, Joel Casamayor vs Katsidis. casa being in court with his managment for
sORYRR?!??! is he though? he got sparked clean for sure...but guy was unified world cham[pion for 3 years before the defeat. then battered up half of the world champion super flys and bantams after. that is a ridiculous statement. he is a hall of famer. it's like saying "Glen Johnson was exposed by Bernad Hopkins"...so what bredda became a world class athlete years later.
Man, that was a hellacious knockout, but I can’t say it was satisfying. Paul Williams was every bit as likable and down to earth as Martinez.
A recent one of mine is Norman vs Santillan, underdog win and Norman is a Black guy from ths South like me.
It has to be Holyfield stopping Tyson. In those pre-internet days, as far as I knew I was the only human on earth who thought Holyfield could and would win, and actually wanted him to. It was such a huge, world cup level deal, with the entire neighborhood all watching on one screen. My gallant hero won, their scummy hero lost, and it proved once and for all that I'm always right and regular folk are always wrong. That was a very satisfying discovery.
