2/3rds were better than Young and Brewster was avenged. And Wlad was green by anyone's standards for Purrity. Foreman avenged nothing, but avoided many.

I'm assuming this is in the same night. Because given two separate dates for each would be too easy.

    Either way, Wlad KOx2.

All three had solid chins. Wlad and Foreman had pacing issues. Wlad corrected his and went on to have a drawn out prime whereas Foreman failed and retired for what should've been his prime.

Never heard of him TBH. But he looks really good at beating up midgets. Did he ever face a heavyweight?

No, Sonny was a featherweight. He had a barnburner with Amir Khan at welterweight and KO'd Ricardo Lopez at flyweight earlier in his career.

I'll take your word for it. Maybe putting him in with Wlad isn't fair then. It's like putting in Inoue with him. Can you imagine?

Wlad was also KO'd by Ricardo in one round.

That's a fair point about the evolution of refereeing, but it doesn't address the inconsistency in how fans perceive it. When modern fighters like Mayweather, Hopkins, or Ward use the clinch strategically to nullify offense, control distance, and reset the action, they are often praised as "crafty," "veterans," or having high ring IQ. Yet, when Wladimir did essentially the same thing, using the clinch to shut down his opponent's offense when he needed to, it was overwhelmingly criticized. My issue isn't with disliking the tactic, it's with the double standard. If we're going to criticize Wlad for it, then to be consistent, we should apply the same criticism to the others who built their careers on similar tactics.

Doesn't change the fact that Wlad would dominate Ali ;)

John Ruiz was the gold standard for clinching in the 2000s and he made it through his career without getting DQ'd.

Wlads was worse. The Povetkin fight was shocking. I have no idea how he got away with that.
