Even with a primed nuke in each glove Floyd wouldn't beat Rocky.

    Troll thread.

I don’t that the premise necessarily warrants/invites the serious responses you were seeking. :D

Some pertinent questions re the hypothetical.

Are these 1) 1, 2 or 3 minute rounds?, 2) is Rocky at least < 137 years old? and finally, 3) will Rocky be required to adhere to any pre-fight scripting?

    Now hear me out...

Floyd had 5 or 6 inches of reach on Marciano, and let's be real he was probably taller than the dude. So, he's got the dimensionals going on. He was about million more times skilled than Rocky, and lightyears faster, I mean he was working on another level in those regards. I feel like he could wear Rocky down like he did the superior fighter McGregor and stop him late with him gasping, bewildered and beaten. Perhaps a towel thrown in late in the 11th. That would be my bet at least.

Thanks for hearing me out. Levels, people. Levels.

Gasping? Marciano? He seemed to have limitless stamina.

No way would Floyd be able to stop a bigger fighter like that. Could he dance and spoil his way to a close decision victory though? That's the only thing that seems remotely possible to me.

OMG, some people are actually picking Floyd. More education needed. Marciano is 185+ pounds, Floyd is 154 soaking wet. Marciano hits harder than anything Floyd has experienced in his life. He will walk through Floyds punches and bang him anywhere he can bang him. Floyd won't be able to lift his arms up after 6 rounds. Anyone picking Floyd really doesn't know **** about boxing.

Marciano would be the slowest, least balanced, least skilled opponent Money May had ever faced.

    FACT!

This thread should’ve had a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) order in place.

When exactly did humanity leave the building? :D

It's like saying a house cat can beat a hyena in a fight because it's faster lol

Man, I would love to see PBF knocked out by his own shoulder. That would be TBE.

I mean, there was a Corbett vs. Foreman thread that lasted 9 pages. People here did bother to analyze that one, with at least a couple leaning Corbett "Corbett would survive George's early onslaught and take over!".

I can't tell which is more far fetched, Corbett beating Foreman in a scheduled 45 rounder, or Floyd staying away from Rocky for 8 rounds.

The ring size would be about what Rocky Marciano had seen before. And his relentless, aggressive style would give him an edge over the boxer/mover Floyd Mayweather. Floyd would be much faster than Rocky and harder to hit than the reverse. I do not think the 8 rounds makes it different by a lot, because both fighters would understand the scheduled rounds going in. I do not think Floyd can hurt Rocky so Rocky can come inside undeterred. Floyd has to find a way to avoid Rocky's power shots, and he can ... most of them. Every now and then some of Rocky's bombs will hit home somewhere. And the bombs will keep coming, relentlessly.

This cannot go the way Ali and Foreman went, with the slugger, Foreman, tiring, because Ali turned him into trying to become a swarmer. Marciano IS A SWARMER! He will pressure and attack without tiring, and the shorter fight actually helps him increase his attack speed and number of punches thrown. 15 rounds worth of power shots thrown in 8 rounds. Missing Floyd widely, and looking bad, will not deter Rocky. He is used to that.

I am going with Floyd building an early lead but losing the fight. A body shot could finally cause the end of this, in Rocky's favor.

I think I need to start up a "Golovkin vs Foreman" thread. Golovkin is obviously much more skilled, he should win easily.
