-Arguably lost against Madrimov -Got knocked down and lost rounds against Egis -Jose Benavidez with one leg gave him work -Porter was beating him. Crawford does have great power at 147 and I feel like his close fights don’t get talked about a lot since his power bailed him out. Don’t get me wrong, he would have beat all 3 of those guys on the cards, but they would have been close on the scorecards. Crawford won’t put a dent in Canelo. There’s no way Crawford is that much of a bigger puncher than Jermell. My prediction is Crawford will do his best impression of Scull.
Bud was not losing to Porter. The official cards were, 1 judge had Bud winning, the other 2 had it a draw. Then Bud lowered the boom and stopped him. There is no argument for Madrimov winning. Did he have some good moments? Yes. Did Bud have more good moments in more rounds? Yes. Bud was the clear winner in a highly contested fight. How Bud performed in those other fights will make zero diffrence against Canelo. I can say with confidence, Bud will be as prepared as can be for this fight. Just like he was in the Spence fight. Now, will Bud have the same success as he did against Spence? We're just gonna have to watch and find out.
Really? @IntentionalButt @The Professor and I are pretty good scorers, and we had both Porter and Madrimov winning.
Spence was hyped as this elite seek and destroy fighter the dude takes one loss and is never to be seen again
As far as the Porter fight goes, I was going by what the official scorecards read. I was ringside for that so, I'm not used to judging fights live. I had the Madrimov fight close, but I felt Crawford won. I thought Bud landed the harder shots throughout the fight. Like I said, it was a highly contested fight. I need to go back and watch it again.
Watch them both, on TV the Porter match was shocking. He wasn't just winning rounds, he was winning them with relative ease. Only the most ardent usually in denial Crawford fanboys argued otherwise.
On paper, I thought Crawford was going to destroy Porter. Porter wasn't as easy to catch with that in your face style. Seems like although he smothered his own work, it also smothered his opponent's because Crawford is just the type to exploit fighters like that but it wasn't easy.
We disagree a lot but youre spot on here. People are delusional w some of their takes. Is kinda funny actually
Eh, the videz fight was like 6 years ago, the Egis fight was 5 years ago, and Canelo fights nothing like Mad or Porter. Im not saying Canelo wouldnt necessarily win, but I dont think those fights really display why Crawford cant beat Canelo. Also, dont be surprised if Bud does actually put a dent in Canelo late. Its not about punching harder than Charlo. Its about landing the right punches at the right time. We'll see. I think anythings possible in this one.
Egis and Benavidez are underrated. Plus, Benavidez leg worked fine, he adjusted his boxing around the injury. He simply became a more flat footed boxer. He barely took any time away from the sport after his injury.
