Even WBA and WBC wasn't enforcing mandatories like that before the late 70's, but how did the system look like before these bodies emerged? You don't see NBA or NYSAC stripping their champions that much. Were the mandatories called back then?
There was a site that broke this down in great detail. Barry Hugman. It has been taken down. His lineal titles can still be found in many places but its just a list he had VERY detailed notes on his website pertaining to the relations of the early sanctioning bodies and who was ordering who to fight who. And that seems like it can't even be waybacked.
I think there's a way to find old, deleted websites and videos via some sort of archiving or backwards search methods. Had a few friends who knew how to do it, but I haven't talked to them in ages. It'd be cool if someone here knew how to access that site.
There is the wayback machine. But after awhile it stopped working for this site. It worked for a few months and then it didn't. Either Barry Hugman himself didn't want his site accessed or someone else didn't. I don't know the story but its probably gone. One of them political issues thats super important that no one ever talks about is internet preservation. Its an uphill battle that really isn't going great at the current moment. The thing of unique value here were "notes" or "edits" that were not a promiment feature on the site but really supplementary content.
Internet preservation is a slippery slope because someone might, for example, accidentally post sensitive information that they then delete or edit. Similarly, someone may post an inappropriate picture or someone else's info that then gets deleted by a mod. Then there's the question of intellectual property. If I post a poem online for example and later decide I don't want anyone to read it, do people have the right to archive it? Is literally anything I post "intellectual property" or do I need to sign a waiver agreeing that what I post belongs to the site I'm registered for? And how about my own personal website, is that fair use/public domain unless I copyright everything?

Its back wonderful. I was trying a few months ago I couldn't get it. I do remember Amendments having more stuff so it might be a different snapshot?
