Wlad has elite clinching game inside and is strong as hell, so he may maul Foreman in close.

 

Wait, you think the only way Foreman can land body shots on Wladmir (when the ref is hypothetically penalizing excessive clinching) is if Wladmir "lets" him...?

Foreman would only be able to cut off the ring if Wladmir just abruptly stopped moving and let it happen?

At no point did I say or imply Wladmir "can't" do anything, only that it wouldn't be easy for him to deal with these skills of Foreman given that fighters inferior to Foreman both landed body shots AND cut off the ring against Wladmir and pressured him. His resume has quantity, but lacks quality.

He beat several "good", "decent", and plenty of "average" or "bad" opponents. But no greats or elites to speak of.

If only there was some elite boxer he shared his era with against whom he could've proved his ATG h2h+resume credentials against...!

Yeah very true, I just think Wlad was lucky not many of his era had anything going on side. No real body punchers, little creativity..Surely Foreman one of the greats with power for the ages would be able to land something big and we know Wlad's chin wasn't granite.

But your right an elite clinch maybe the cheat code Wlad needs against smaller guys.

 

That one of Wlad's attributes is being referred to as "elite" clinching tells a story on its own.

I am not as sure on Liston not the most knowledgeable on his standing but both Wlad and Foreman would make my top 10 as well.
