Tough one, I think you can definitely make a case for Bud becoming P4P 1. But with all Usyk’s achievements it certainly won’t be a consensus

He would overtake Usyk but I would still put him behind Naoya Inoue.

Usyk seems to have the better resume yet Usyk beat no greats and Canelo is a great. I don't know about a close decision but If Crawford somehow manages to stop Canelo or dominate him for 12 straight rounds he would overtake Usyk imo

If Crawford clearly beats Canelo there's a good chance the judges still give it to Canelo.

Yea boxing a perfect gameplan winning 8 rounds to 4 the judges still give that a draw to Canelo

If he clearly beat Canelo I don't see how he couldn't be P4P 1.

Not for me. Would still be behind Usyk but those two would be a pretty clear 1 and 2. I’d have no problem with someone having him number 1 P4P but for me it’s still Usyk.

Usyk's cruiserweight run was phenomenal, but I don't see how his heavyweight run trumps Crawford going up to 168 and beating Canelo clearly.

That's a tough one to call. Usyk has been busier and beat AJ, Fury and Dubois. The 3 best heavyweights in the division. In the same time period Crawford has beat Porter, Avanesayan, Spence Jr, and Madrimov. Not exactly top competition. Canelo is legitimately a top p4p opponent with a great legacy. So we shall see what happens.

I think it’ll come down to how both of them look during the fight. If Bud is on point, like he was with Spence, but Clenelo looks like his age, wear and tear, and lackluster performances since Bivol have caught up to him, then Bud’s victory, while still great, won’t have as much shine. If both men fight at their peak levels, like Leonard vs Hearns 1, then whoever gets a clear and decisive victory should receive great praise. If both men bring their best, then no excuses about Bud being too small or Alvarez having lost a step.

He's still below Usyk, and I think if I were Crawford, I'd retire unless another big payday comes his way. If he beats Canelo clearly, then who else could he beat that would cement a HOF or ATG status at super-middleweight?

he would be a clear #1 p4p and best fighter since pac and floyd peaked. beating alvarez is a larger achievement than anything anyone else has achieved since. going up 2 divisions, after reigning supreme in 3 divisions already, to take on the face of boxing and p4p perennial....thats the stuff of legend.

Not even close. People don’t even rate Canelo P4P anymore. Nobody in this current generation has a chance of overtaking Usyk.
