Who do you think Itauma should face in his IBF title eliminator, with the winner becoming Usyk’s next mandatory challenger?

Chisora is the highest ranked IBF fighter... and I could see Chisora causing Ituama real issues. Ituama looked pretty unhappy when Balogun was roughing him up. Nobody is better at that **** than Chisora.

But Chisora doesn't want it. He turned down $2mil already. Which is one of the things that helps me lean toward Ituama being the real thing. When Chisora is afraid to fight someone, yikes.

If Chisora is not in the right mindset, in which he's probably shown he hasn't sadly, then Itauma will get him out of there in less than a round.

However, if Chisora is in the right mindset - he can ignore Itauma's feints and rhythm like he did against Usyk and give him some hard rounds and test his chin and body although he will be very vulnerable to a massive counter.

Chisora will cause Itauma zero issues if that fight ever happens

Yeah, that's pretty telling that Chisora would take a pa$$ on dealing with Itauma... but, still, this strikes me as a BS development and just makes IBF look like (even more of) a BS organization.

Trying to thrust Itauma more quickly at Usyk when the decent thing for Usyk to do -- assuming he stays in the fight game after he recuperates -- is to face the winner of Parker-Wardley is, to put it politely, maybe rushing things just a bit... and seems like an obnoxious, attention-getting, shiny-object move.

Here's hoping the Warrens move Itauma along a bit more judiciously than that....

Like a lot of fighters atm Chisora is hoping for a title shot, he doesn't want the risk of the Itauma fight without a big payday and 2m ain't going to cut it. Its why having the unified champ go on injury holiday without being clear about his intentions holds up the division.

Also doesn't the IBF require two eliminators to get their number 1 and number 2 who then fight a final eliminator to get the IBF mandatory shot? And so far we have only had the one eliminator to get Chisora into the number 2 position but the number 1 eliminator keeps getting derailed.

So would this fight then be for the number 1 eliminator, who would then go on to fight Chisora for the mandatory? Or are the IBF going to make an exception?

EDIT: My bad I misread it, so this fight will be for the number 1 spot, Sanchez vs Itauma with the winner facing Chisora for the IBF Mandatory.

If so that means hes overtaken Hrgovic since he was ducked by him.

Which means Hrgovic has massively messed up since he was wanting to sit on his ranking.

    Itauma.

If he is ducking that fight, which it seems he is, Chisora, Bakole, Ajagba. He needs that ibf mandatory, without it he needs to up hia competition and frequency.

A friend of mine saw this photo on Instagram and asked why he needs the IBF title if he already has two other world titles (as shown in the picture) - I had to go down a rabbit hole of explaining how pointless the belts were and how misleading they are compared to the actual world titles. It really is wild how many of these pointless belts are out there and how difficult it makes it for a casual audience to follow.

Chisoras their "mandatory". How do they skip Chisora here?

Not that Chisora should be the "mandatory" or in line for a shot just stating the facts here.

As far as my understanding goes Chisora only won an eliminator for their number 2 spot, this will be an eliminator for their number 1 spot, then Chisora and the winner will have a final eliminator to decide the mandatory.

Hes the Mandatory. Thats a higher title then number 1??

Are we really out here subdividing the status of "Mandatory" which isn't even an official title? Mandatory means its mandatory you fight this guy if theres 2 IBF mandatorys then by definiton its isn't mandatory?

    I am very confused.

So the IBF have two kinds of eliminators, an "eliminator" and a "final eliminator".

They tell four of the top ranked fighters to fight an "eliminator" for the number 1 and number 2 spot. The winners then fight each other in a "final eliminator" for the mandatory spot.

Chisora was never the IBF mandatory, he just won one half of the "eliminator" fights. This potential Itauma fight is the other "eliminator" fight, the winner if which will fight Chisora in a "final eliminator" for the mandatory spot.

It is confusing how all the different orgs work, and how they use the same words for different things. But at least with the IBF if a fighter jumps through the hoops they have a pretty high chance of getting the title shot, or even elevation within a year.
