Why would Hearn favour Crocker over O Donovan?

If anything O' Donovan has more upside potential

DAZN pundits pretty much laughing it off post fight as just one of those things that happens in boxing. "I don't think the right man won but I'm happy for Crocker" isn't good enough.

It was a poor decision in my
Opinion but not a robbery on the scale of Lewis v Holyfield 1 or Taylor v Catterall 1

Well I saw it differently from the donovan voters. There were many rounds you could have given either way and if you don't resort to giving all those to donovan somehow it's a pretty close affair for calling robbery.

Split decision makes total sense because for most of the second half you have rounds where crocker had the best 2-3 shots and for part of the round boxed well against donovan and generally donovan pressed forward.

You can give a lot of those rounds to donovan but you can not scream at anyone not doing so.

For the most part after the knockdowns donovan took a lot of time to figure out how to approach attacking crocker. He pressed him but with almost no actions you can really count.

So don't demand all those close rounds like canelo usually gets them.

I for one like that it went to crocker in a close decision. I'd rather see the genuine guy with his old coach and whoever in his corner winning, than to donovan with andy lee and parker and who knows who else on his side.

And he earned it, because almost everything noteworthy was from crocker. Make a highlights video and see if i'm wrong.

What did I tell you guys about us Brits and Irish being able to punch like mules and switch up our styles from aggressive front foot brawlers to super slick backfoot boxers? We all have that in our locker

Controversial decision. Is this a prelude of things to come later tonight?

Well, Donovan fairly toyed with Crocker during that last round... but a couple judges apparently felt it too little too late...

Belfast vs. Limerick. Us Yanks learn something new every day. My mom's ancestors were from County Cork and she never told me about such inter-city rivalries....

BTW that Pat Brown looks awful promising. Looks like there may be some depth and bench strength in in the CW division after all....

The general consensus is the wrong man won. Donovan was busier and landed far more scoring shots. Yes the better shots came from Crocker, but for me he didn’t do enough and was trying to pot shot his way ( which worked according to 2 judges ) It wasn’t an out and out robbery but Donovan looks the better fighter of the 2 yet has 2 defeats against Crocker.

For that reason this fight in the robbery thread devalues the thread. If we call every fight you can have a different score in a robbery, calling out the real robberies will not be as meaningful and then why take ggg canelo 1 and others seriously...

Donovan definitely should have done more if he wanted to be sure to get the decision.

I can see that and I'm fine with it. I saw it differently and I think that is also reasonable. It's a tough fight to score but not a robbery.

Btw I am very far from having any horse in this race. Didn't expect as good a fight as I was about to get. We'll see if canelo crawford and inoue mj can keep up :-D

Btw punchstats or whatever in between rounds doesn't seem to see it as much more scoring shots for donovan? Not a fan of those stats, but still...

Also about donovan looking the better fighter - did he really this fight? He looked great last fight and crocker looked really bad. But this time crocker showed up and donovan wasn't nearly as impressive. So maybe people conflate performances Here as if donovan had this great cealing he just didn't reach this time. I doubt it.

Crocker boxed really well against him. And I bet odds will be very much 50-50 if they had a third fight next, which they obviously won't as long as benn is an option

.Respect your opinion but I had Donovan by 115 _112 and cant find a way to make Lewis win, depressing.
