Not a lot of space between them stats-wise but if I'm reading this correctly then Canelo outlanded Crawford in total punches 6 out of 12 rounds and with power punches in 10. Crawford won the jab war 10 rounds to 2. That doesn't say who's punches were harder, who landed the cleaner more significant shots, or who controlled the fight but on paper this fight does look fairly even. Just look at those dismal totals though. This must have been fought at a snails pace. Canelo's first fight with Golovkin was excellent and had 200 more punches from each fighter. By comparison, this looks like a sparring match that broke out into a fight in rounds 9, 11, and 12. 28 punches a round. Canelo, don't strain yourself! Isn't the average at that weight around 60 punches thrown a round? Even Crawford only threw 44ppr. I haven't seen it yet, but this sounds more like a Mayweather fight than a Pacquiao fight. Crawford fought on the outside using his superior height and reach to control the range turning it into a sniping battle.

I don’t agree Crawford fought his fight he didn’t follow any blueprint certainly not Floyd’s blueprint, no one can copy that and he didn’t stay behind his jab and keep canelo at distance all fight like bivol did.

I been saying this also, i was a heavy advocate that this will be a clean Crawford victory simply because in this sport timing is everything, Canelo will not make Bud work at a pace hes uncomfortable with, Canelo will not throw in combination, Canelo will not cut off the ring effectively. Weight was never going to be a issue here simply for the fact this version of Canelo was tailor made for all of Buds attributes he would be bringing with him to 168.

154lb Canelo or even 160lb Canelo 6/7 years ago. Discussing a completely different fight with a potentially different outcome.

By the way, guys, the Inoue card is underway (Japan/Philippines broadcast, anyway). There's a pretty fun JBC lightweight title fight going on now.

You're right about one thing, it was a dismal fight fought at a snail's pace. It was as tight as your butthole while visiting Provincetown.:sisi1

Yeah, everything pointed towards a Crawford win and I thought the chances of Clenelo landing a bomb and winning by KO vs longer reach Crawford who was using the ring were very slim especially given how Clenelo hasn't stopped been able to stop cherrypicks in 4 years whilst being very active

He did follow the blue print. Just box and move and be quicker on your feet so you don't get caught. Might have not have followed the exact same blue print down to a t but the principal is the same
