RIP to one of God’s great warriors.

He was well deserving of his 2005 fighter of the year award from Ring magazine. He had Great victories over Tszyu,Castillo,Collazo,Urango,Malignaggi and others in his career.

People forget about how much heart he showed against Luis Collazo for hanging on in the twelfth round and ultimately winning a world title in a second weight class in what was an unnatural weight division for him.

Horrible news. Good fighter. Struggled after his boxing career was over. Feel for his kids.

Can't believe I heard this awful news after being up all night it feels surreal. I thought it was someone trolling at first.

Only 46 y/o. Excellent fighter and a huge character.

I still maintain Hatton had the hardest left hook to the body I've ever seen. It was a really thumping heavy shot and his opponents used to hit the canvas like they'd been shot in the gut, a bunch of them going out writhing around on the canvas in utter agony

    RIP, champ

Who can forget the atmosphere at the MEN Arena, when he fought and beat Kostya Tszyu for the light welterweight titles.

Truly tragic news to hear of Rickys death, some deaths just hit you in the guts, this for me is one of them, one last body punch from Ricky.

Rest easy Mr Hatton, thanks for the memories.

When i saw this, the wind was taken out of me the way Ricky would take the wind out of so many opponents with his beautiful left hook to the body. Ricky was such a defining part of my 2000s boxing engagement. I will never forget the night he dethroned Tszyu, he was incredible that night. I'll never forget leaping out of seat in December 2007 when he hit Floyd with a jab in the first round and knocked him off balance. Even though I thought Floyd would win, that 8th round when Floyd threw everything but the kitchen sink and Ricky stayed up really demonstrated his fighting heart and spirit. Even after being put down in the 10th, he still got up because that is what a fighting man does: fights until the end.

Ricky's warrior spirit lives on. He gave me and millions of other Brits hours of entertainment and that is eternal. He was also a brilliant comedian who during 24/7 would have me in stiches. Just an all-round brilliant guy who like so many had to deal with the beast that is depression.

Rest In Peace Champ. You were one in a million and the deepest and sincerest condolences to you and yours. You are up there with all the other legends and I hope you entertain them with your comedy as you did with the public.
