Canelo punched in combinations against lower level fighters with a basic offense.

Agreed, but he had much more confidence in his gas tank at that point also regardless of opposition which is why i think he punched in combinations. I think Bivol completely ruined his psyche when it comes to letting off more and more punches. Bivol beat that man till he turned pink with exhaustion.

Id like to point out, ive got no issue with you saying hes not that great whatever version, i can see how many would think that, not too mention very questionable decisions in 2 fights with his main career long rival GGG. Had they both gone in favour of GGG on paper regardless of the fans opinion, i think Canelo is looked at very differently indeed.

Theres still enough substance in his career for me though to class him as a All timer for sure.

He also ducked his main career rival. Canelo deliberately avoided GGG until he was showing signs of age.

I've questioned Canelo's P4P status for years because he won't fight the best available challengers.

The way he ducked Benevidez was a disgrace and his fanbase defended the ducking nonstop. He ducked Benevidez like a *****. He hasn't fought anyone of note since 2022. A 40 year old GGG doesn't mean much. Munguia got destroyed by a feather fist and Berlanga got destroyed by Sheerez. He was cherry picking and gave people the illusion that he was elite, but when you compared the outcomes, he was falling quite short. He hasn't stopped anyone since the Plant fight and you can tell he was declining.

Canelo was a very good fighter in his prime, but he need a lot of help from the judges to get to where he is. They robbed GGG twice to push his career forward and derailed GGG's career. He was manufactured to an extent and then protected by the ABC organizations because he made them a lot of money.

I have never respected Canelo because of that and I knew Crawford had a chance.

A lot of sour grapes here. If Alvarez had won there would be no talk of him being severely diminished. Crawford would present problems for Alvarez at any time of his career.

Canelo's been boxing professionally since he was like 15, and he's 35 now.

Another point i 100% agree with and quite frankly i dont blame him, i wouldnt fight a Prime GGG either. The only point i make is that his legacy as a whole for me equals that of a all time great, especially in the modern era. I said on another post, i give his legacy of belts, weight classes and resume of names hes collected regardless of deserved decisions or not and regardless of versions of them fighters he fought, a B+. However when it comes to fantasy match ups, id give him a C. Too many holes in Canelos game. I feel like i could name plenty of fighters that would give Canelo on his best possible day fits over 12 rounds.

He looked so bad against Ryder. He has zero confidence now. He ducked benvenidez and said he would only fight bivol if he beat beterbiev, he would not fight beterbiev if he beat bivol. Guy has no balls to fight punchers and wants to fight guys like Charlo and Crawford moving up 2 weight divisions

With respect, could you identify the version of Canelo that would beat Crawford?

Is it the version that beat featherfist Plant? Or over the hill GGG?

Despite GGG being over the hill, he was still very dangerous.

I scored both GGG fights for GGG, but Canelo was competitive in both.

And I had Bud winning last night, but only by a whisker.

So to a answer your question, any version of Canelo from Cotto to Jacobs.

That said, this victory puts Bud above Canelo in my all-time p4p rankings.

Going back 30 years I have only Roy, Floyd and Pac ahead of him.
