**** waiting until you’re already feeling low — weekly, bi-weekly, or even monthly therapy sessions should be standard for anyone who can access or afford them. Irrespective of the surface benefits, it changes how you think about anything and everything.

Yeah, like any field there are charlatans out there, but if you find a good one it will change you inside and out. Preventative maintenance for the mind should be treated the same way we treat going to the gym for the body.

Don't be ashamed to put your hand up and ask for help.

It can be a really lonely place out there but there are some amazing people just waiting to help and listen to you.

But they can't help if you don't ask.

Just got in, haven’t even put the footy on. Just watching Sky Sports news. Good to see all the nice tributes from famous and none famous. I’m sure the minutes applause will be great before the Manchester derby in a bit.

When I read the text with the news, my belly sank. First time that’s ever happened over someone I don’t know personally before. My dad boxed so boxing was never too far from the scene, I’d been in the gym but Hatton was probably the biggest out of a bunch of reasons I started really loving the sport.

    Some great memories. RIP.

It’s one of them though. I preach this and wouldn’t judge anyone for it but I know I could never do it myself. That must be the same for many and that’s the problem.

You always think it's never going to happen to you - until you're standing on the kerb wondering if this oncoming bus is going fast enough to kill you or flying off the handle because someone says they're next to be served. But mental health isn't just about suicide or violence, it's addiction, OCD or a dozen other problems. If you don't feel right, get help.

I'm trying to think of how many boxers since him have been proper household names, by which I mean the sort who would stop the traffic in any high street they walked down. Fury, maybe Joshua and Amir Khan. After that I'm struggling and that's a mark of the man.
