Chispa's such a little boss. Flies overseas to appear in the chief supporting bout for Japan's biggest star as the opponent in what's meant to be a showcase for a young Japanese undefeated titlist on their home soil, as the 11/1 underdog, and yet behaving from the opening bell like it's Takei who doesn't belong in the ring with him.

Good lord, skipping through and seeing how large the remaining time bar is...how long did you guys have to wait between Medina vs. Takei and the main event?!?

I hate that despite how corny it is, that's kind of a clever line.

 

Typical slow start from both.

 

Both are still cautious and mutually respectful in the second.

 

Gonna be honest, this ...isn't very exciting.

That adrenaline from the Chispa upset has worn off, and I'm just sipping my coffee and sort of zoning out watching them exchange quick jabs and dance around.

 

Akhmadaliev scored a nice left in the 4th, maybe the best power shot of the match so far. Not sure he won it...but he is having a terrific 5th so far as well.

 

Right time, wrong size, fighters always struggled getting exposure below 126. Even Hamed, Barrera, Morales, Pac & JMM became famous at or above 126 and Floyd, Oscar, Shane & Bud were lucky they could easily outgrow 130/135. All the their superfights were at higher weight classes.
