People are being way way too strict with the HOF. Many act like only GOAT contenders in a weight class belong in the HOF. Crawford probably clinched his induction before the pandemic.
You know I was going to make a thread on this. But every time baseball players do something unethical baseball writers and fans act like they are OJ and killed someone. And act like they are god denying someone entry into heaven because they aren't "morally pure enough". I've noticed in comparable scandals boxing fans do not care. Holyfield or Toney taking PEDs. Meh. LaMotta doing what he did. All good. Tyson biting off ear. All good. Galento committing unspeakable acts against human decency. Fine. I'm not saying I think its good or bad but I've wondered why boxing fans are so chill like that. You could say its a violent sport but MMA fans go wild over scandals like anyone else they will not stop talking about Jon Jones PED history.
It's not only that. It seems you can be very good to excellent to get into Springfield but to get into Cooperstown you have to be outstanding. Interestingly Cooperstown is the only HOF I've been too. Oh, the Yankees have their own HOF at their stadium. I've been to that. It's pretty cool.
I mean Gatti is a HOFamer and loads of guys in the past that are HOFamer's are probably worse than Gatti
I think he made a case for the hof as early as the Postol win, secured ATG status w/ the Spence win, & put himself among the all-time top 30 w/ the Canelo win.
