Mental health issues plus it was the neighbour who reported it - sounds like suicide. I would have thought if it was a heart attack they would have known it by now, and reported it. The reports are "he died and suffered from psychosis"

I have recently heard the news that Hatton is coming out of retirement. But now he has passed away. R.I.P.

The power of the Hitman. I'm sure I've told you before how this Man Utd fan would disgrace the club and sing Blue Moon as he made his entrance. Like many others, I think Hatton vs Tszyu would be one of those single greatest events that had me hyped more than any other. Can hear Jim Watt's voice in my yelling ''he's going to do it'' late on in the fight. The joy when it happened.

God bless his soul. Thanks for all the memories, Ricky.

It's been a few years since I was an active member here, but in those days Ricky Hatton was a major topic. I'm genuinely saddened at his death and at the age of 46 with 3 kids and a grandchild truly tragic. I What people outside the UK don't perhaps realise is what Hatton did for the niche sport of boxing here. He was a relatable everyman amd he made the sport, at least when he fought, front page and mainstream. Every British boxer since Hatton can only dream of having the impact and following that he did. From a boxing perspective, he beat Tszyu - the divisional and perhaps P4P #1 - at the time and stopped a Hall of Fame Castillo with a beautiful body shot. His toughness and determination took him past the limits of his talent. He gave prime Mayweather an uncomfortable few rounds also.

I just think it's tragic. Hatton was a good guy, a friendly guy who had time for his fans and contributed to his communuty. The Hitman will never be forgotten.

Very sad news, Ricky was a very good guy, it shouldn't have ended like this. R.I.P.

Utterly tragic news. Ricky was the man who got me into boxing, and for that I will be eternally grateful. In some strange twist of fate, it was Ricky who helped me find the sport I love and it is the very same sport Ricky loved and where he found armies of adoring fans screaming his name and filling stadiums all the way across vast oceans just to see him fight. An incredible man, an incredible fighter, and the world is a much dimmer place without him in it. Rest in peace, champ.

With all the goings on this weekend I don't wanna say it got overshadowed but it did in a manner. Far too young to go (we're the same age). I didn't always root for him but he was a real headache and handful in the ring :(
