Bud just did what he had to do to win the fight in a Fight that both are capable of winning. Canelo let the fight slip away down the stretch you could say, but it all depends on how many rounds you gave him early. Favorable scoring to Bud gave him a lead on the scorecard, which many expected him to do, which of course created an expectation. I just think when you look at all the scorecards posted earlier, there are an incredible amount of scores in favor of Canelo for a fight that some would have you believe was something else entirely. This was definitley a close highly competitive fight and as a fan I really have no complaints. It was maybe way better than maybe any other Canelo fight since GGG. But I did get the sense that Canelo was the more powetful fighter of the two and though he took some big shots from Bud he wasn't deterred by them. And one point a fight broke out and you thought it could turn into a brawl, but Bud stayed very disciplined not to over-engage. Much praise is deserve for how Bud fought, but he did fight "on his bike" and stalled for much fo the fight. The stalling tactic worked though, because he prevented Canelo from landing enough eye catching head shots to offset the occasional big shots Bud was able to land. Still, Canelo landing more power shots, landing a lot more body shots and landing at a much higher percentage typically is a recipe for winning. It was a way better fight than many thought it would be. Most thought Crawford had no chance, some did think he could win, some thought he would. It wasn't the most action packed fight, but it was a high level chess match between two top P4Pers. It is so rare to see that. And I Must say the production and atmosphere at the Raiders stadium was impressive. However the scoring and the statstical anomolies here are significant and I thought Max really went overboard declaring Bud the victor before the decision was reached. While Bud was impressive, I do not personally believe that he did enough or fought in a way to dethrone the Champion. But I respect the decision and praise Bud's performance.

not a huge fan of that method but in this fight, it turned out to be true
