The following days after a big fight always produce some gold opinions

True. They were better because they fought more often IMO. They had to fight every kind of style and cherry picking wasn’t a thing.
Crawford is great but he hasn’t done anything to show he would beat the above mentioned boxers, it’s just like Usyk who is also great but hasn’t shown he could be at an Ali or Holmes or Foreman.

Fighters in past eras weren’t becoming ATG’s or having their best moments in their mid 30s, they can do that now because the competition isn’t as good.

Another myth, stop letting nostalgia ruin your brain.

In the 70s and 80s a 35 year old and a 37 year old fighting would be more of a sideshow and not to be taken so seriously, like Duran - Leonard 3.

Today the same fight is a cause for fans to go berserk at the skills of these old men. That’s the difference.

Some of the knee-jerk reactions around here are GOLD and age like milk in the sun.

The place would probably be boring without the noobs brighting our days with their half baked exagerations.

literally proving my whole point haha, humans and athletes have moved on and evolved, now 35-38 year olds are still elite, 50 years ago they were finished, hence why all athletes are better now than 50 years ago, if you take nostalgia out of it. Thanks for proving my whole argument, cheers.

So you think a 37 year old told Crawford would beat a prime Hagler?
Canelo has cement feet even more now than in his prime.
They go on longer now mostly through not fighting as often, they aren’t better

yes, because age isn't as relevant now Crawford is 38 and looked the best he has ever looked along with when he was 35 against Spence, even floyd at 36 was absolutely sharp and elite against Canelo, Usyk too mid to late 30's beating guys way bigger and younger than him. So Crawford arguably is past his prime, if his prime was 30-35, and is still elite, in his 'prime' he would beat anyone from the 20th century in 2nd gear.

Well the common thread there is Canelo…they looked great against him because he was never great in the first place. He’s way past his prime now as well.
Usyk beat an old Fury and Joshua…
An out of prime Canelo, Fury and Joshua are not the same as prime Hagler and Leonard are they, or a prime Frazier, or whoever you want to pick for Usyk

haha whenever someone wins, the other guy is suddenly **** and was never that good, classic.

You mean prime Hagler, who lost to a guy that retired with 10 losses - Willie Monroe, and then Willie Monroe 5 months later got KO'd by a bum who had lost 12 times out of 39 fights lmao.
Oh and Hagler lost 2 fights previous to another guy who retired with 7 losses, 6 KO losses, and never won a world tittle, Hagler has to be the most over rated fighter ever, and you think this guy who lost to 2 bums like this in his prime would beat Crawford? do me a favour.

The "(insert name) is the best ever" threads, created by people who have seen about 5 minutes worth of ever in their lives, are amongst my very favourites.

cheers, but someone has to be the best ever, no reason why it can't be Crawford.

The only fight Hagler really lost and avenged twice by Ko, until Leonard when he was old and slow.
Compare him to Canelo who should have 6 or 7 losses on his record. Hagler did it the hard way, Canelo has had every advantage in the world and finally we’re seeing he was never as great as claimed.

Who has Crawford beaten? Canelo , Khan, Brook and Spence were all shot.
Horn and Burns are his best wins, yet he beats Hagler or Leonard or Benitez comfortably now…

Doesn't matter what losses he avenged, on those nights he lost, and that's what make Crawford the best ever, every time he went into the ring, all the way to age 38 years old between 135 - 168lbs, he won, every single time, that's true greatness, not losing to journeymen like Hagler did. I am not comparing Canelo to Hagler, i am saying Crawford is better than Hagler.
Haha everyone is shot after Crawford has beaten them but weren't shot before he beat them, got it, lmao.

It can only be him if he is actually the best ever and few, if any, rank him that highly.

I am a huge Crawford fan and rank him the current P4P #1 and an ATG too, but best ever? No.
