The reason I bring this up is because the way Bud beat Canelo was exactly how I envision Toney beating Canelo at 168—slick counterpunches, fighting in the pocket, spinning him and using the jab. I do think that after seeing what Bud did to Canelo, Toney would have a reasonable chance of KOing Canelo with the slick and aggressive counterpunching (Bud had Canelo look a bit wobbly near the end)

That being said, how would Bud vs JT at 168 play out? Both slick, good counterpunchers, both can fight in the pocket. Is Toney's IQ too much for Bud??? Let's assume Toney actually shows up for this fight.

I would favor Crawford. Michael Nunn was outboxing Toney and Toney had a draw againsnmikr.McAlllum. Both are levels below Crawford

Toney would have problems with the movement but would eventually get to Crawford and stop him. Nunn does a couple things better than Crawford and he's bigger

Like what? Nunn was extremely overrated

Better head movement, southpaw angles, faster feet, more awkward, probably hits harder than Crawford at 160 and he's taller and longer. Nunn was an elite middleweight, rewatch his fight with Frank Tate. He made an Olympic gold medalist and undefeated champion look like a fringe contender

I'm not even confident that Crawford could beat him

I think Crawford would be the favorite over Tate and Nunn. Nunn was basically a softer version of Ward who lacked the will to win and never rose to then occasion. He would be an underdog against Canelo, Benavodez, GGG, Crawford, Janibek, and Ward

Nunn would beat Canelo at 160. Maybe not 168. He has a better resume than Janibek too. I'd make Crawford an underdog against Ward, Benavidez and GGG

Toney wins. 168 was his weight. Pound for pound , on pure skill level both are about equal.

Toney was more exploitable than Canelo. I think Crawford could keep Toney resetting all night.

Toney would massacre Crawford at this weight.
