Not a good idea. His best days are well behind him. The Triple G of the first Clenelo fight would’ve stopped the Canelo of Sat night.

Unlike Canelo, GGG is exceptional at cutting off the ring, even now he beats Crawford within an inch of his life.

What the hell are you loling about? Canelo was always an advantageous style for Crawford. GGG isn't. The hubris is starting to set in I see. Probably have a legion of kooks thinking he can beat Beterbiev, Bivol and Benavidez too. If GGG is shot beyond belief, sure maybe Bud could outpoint him, but if he's even close to the form he showed against Murata, Bud is screwed.

GGG vs. a southpaw with decent infighting skills.

You were serious? lol I thought you were just trolling. I hope they do fight to see how you rationalize Golovkin’s loss.

Yes, I'm serious. Hopkins fought until he was 51, Wlad almost beat AJ at 41, look what Manny just did to Barrios at 46. Kovalev battered Artur Mann at 42. Donaire just dominated Campos at 42. Golovkin is well rested, took a few years off, which might have done his body some good, and it's not like he's been in a ton of wars, or been repeatedly and violently KO'd. Age is just a number and he's well preserved.

Think about it this way, GGG clearly wants the Bud match. Not the other way around.

OK but he is 43 years old and hasn't fought since being out of sorts and overwhelmed by a Canelo coming off of a fairly one-sided loss to Bivol. I admire your enthusiasm as it pertains to GGG and I'll be honest, if GGG did come out of retirement to challenge Bud I would be all for it. Stylistically you make a good point about cutting off the ring, that you could say GGG is better at it, but Canelo in his prime managed to cut off the ring quite well. And, well, GGG didn't exactly cut off the ring well against Canelo in any of their fights. But if we're talking prime pre-Canelo GGG, sure, that's how he got many of his KOs, by cutting off the ring. But the people he fought in which he cut off the ring against weren't exactly the kind of people Canelo has fought, so it's easier to cut off the ring against slower big guys than fleet footed smaller slick high IQ guys like who Canelo has fought.

I have no idea if GGG at 43 could come out of retirement and beat a 38 year old who ironically appears to be peaking in his late 30s at higher weight classes after GGG was said to be past it at 34 or 35. I do find it interesting if this is true that GGG would want to upstage Canelo by beating Bud after Canelo couldn't. Remember GGG fought Brook as a response to Canelo fighting Khan. GGG seems to have this anything Canelo can do I can do better sort of thing going on, and I don't know if Canelo is living rent free in GGG's head or what, but GGG seems to want to do something that would put him ahead of Canelo after failing to get that in the ring. And I can understand it, and I would welcome it, to see a 38 Bud take on 43 year old GGG at 168. Call it the Senior Citizens Boxing Championship. :qmeparto:

According to posters on here, maybe including you, Golovkin was shot when he lost to Alvarez in their last fight. Now he is going to come back and beat Crawford? Highly unlikely but keep your hate of Crawford alive. By the way I am not one of these posters who think Crawford is an atg because he beat lead feet Alvarez.

I scored it a draw, and I never said GGG was shot, I think he merely waited too long to get started, because he may have naively thought he could stop Canelo late. But once he did, he dominated. Johnathon Banks is a terrible trainer. He should go back to Abel Sanchez. Regardless, GGG is smart and he knows he can't wait around and let Crawford get into a rhythm and control the pace.

It doesn't matter, my overarching point is, unlike Canelo, GGG has never had even the slightest issue dealing with southpaws.

Yes but Crawford isn't your ordinary southpaw. The reach, the footwork, the punching accuracy, the defense. This would be a lot for GGG to deal with, especially a seemingly well past it GGG who hasn't looked great in a very long time. If he starts fast and really pushes himself maybe, but why would we have any belief that he could do that after he didn't against Canelo the last time. And GGG even in the rematch against Canelo didn't really push the action as we thought he should ir would. The first Canelo fight he never really hurt or stunned Canelo like Crawford managed to do on several occassions. I just do not see GGG coming back at 43 and beating Crawford, however I would like to see it. It does intrigue me to see what might happen.
