Good for him, honestly, well deserved. Exciting fighter win or lose, and achieved all you could ask for at domestic level.

Big Mac just announced it on his social media with a picture of the letter from John Conteh et al at the BBBHOF an hour ago. He's absolutely chuffed, as you'd expect.

    Very pleased for Enzo Mac.

It was a very good era at the time for Welsh and British boxing with 3 World Champions trained by the legendary Enzo Calzaghe.

It's a pity we never got a rubber match with him and Ovill McKenzie. They stopped each other in a pair of fun tilts (although IJL caught a bit of stick about the stoppage in the first one), you'd think it would have been a given.

He also had a lengthy verbal rivalry with Nathan Cleverly - another Enzo Calzaghe guy, at least early on - that never got consummated in the ring.

Genuine fighter was Enzo Mac. Vulnerable, exciting and could punch hard. All the makings of a good watch. Seemingly a great guy also. Well deserved.

Crazy how he isn’t a paid commentator if you watch him talk boxing he’s brilliant and is great in front of a camera.

Helped get me properly into boxing in them ITV Calzaghe, Khan, Derry Mathews, Harrison, Skelton days. Hoped he’d beat Haye.

Don't forget, another convicted doper. What else was he taking that he wasn't caught for? After "beating" Shane McPhilbin in one of the most farcical matches in British boxing he was done for methylhexaneamine. A double whammy for poor Shane.

Seems like some get away with it and others don't.

I'll remember him for all the graft he put in, ostensibly, in his pursuit to bed Ebony Bridges or whatever her name is.

He made a show of himself with that Bridges stuff no doubt.

The McPhilbin farce was a classic Brit boxing moment. Complete and utter corruption in my view. Ringing the bell with 47 seconds left in the round. There is no way he'd have lasted another 10 seconds in the fight. McPhilbin robbed that night.
