I believe that he is just trying to make the point that he deserves time away from boxing, and to an extent I agree. Having four mandatories and having to fight to re-unify belts is ridiculous. There is one world, and there should be one world champion, one #1 contender, and no unifications/re-unifications.

That being said, I do hope he fights Parker next, as Parker is by far the most deserving.

Usyk wanted to recover from the grueling training camp he put himself through, and to spend some time with his family.

He'll fight the winner of Parker-Wardley, a deserving opponent, in January or February 2026.

    He may retire after that.

I don't think he'll want to fight Fury, Dubois or Joshua again. But Jake Paul in the USA would make for a decent payday to retire with.

I am hoping for Parker next, and then one performative fight like Wilder, Beterbiev, or even Pereira even.

    Then retire.

I personally believe that Usyk is waiting to see if he still has "it". It being the drive and fire to do the grueling camps and take the hard fights to be champ.

Thats why I think he is trying to hold on to all his belts but won't come out and say he will actually fight Parker or the winner of Parker vs Wardley next. He is just buying time to see if he still wants it and how the different fight options shape up.

I like the different belts, makes the whole sport feel more broader and deeper and helps to keep it decentralised so that one person like Turki/Dana White can't easily take it over.

And also it builds up the hype of unifications and makes it an actual tricky feat to accomplish. I'm fine with the mandatory requirements, being unified champ should be hard, it should require a lot of work and commitment. Usyk has been the Undisputed Champ, if he feels like he isn't up to making the required defenses, that is fine, just drop a belt or two and keep fighting everyone knows he is the best.

Jake Paul would be easy money for Usyk, which he more than deserves. However the thought of Paul sharing a ring with Oleksandr the Great makes my skin crawl.

I think Usyk is waiting for the best financial offer. If that offer is to face Fury for the third time, then we'll see Usyk vs. Fury. Otherwise, his next opponent will be someone else. I'd love to see him fight Kabayel, but I don't think we'll ever see a match between them.

It fully depends on who you are, I'm sure Canelo loved unifications, big money and fighters rushing to face him. I very much doubt Bakhram Murtazaliev feels the same way, wasting his career unable to get a fight.

He will do at least 4 more fights.

With each fight's salary he can buy 100 new apartments.

The only one juicing now is Fury. He's got experience in it ;)
