Disagree, you are putting too much stock into size when Opetaia is naturally 225 pounds, he cuts down. Usyk wasn't knocking out guys like Opetaia at cruiserweight despite being bigger than most of his opponents, never hurt Briedis like Opetaia did and couldn't drop aj once. Usyk is the superior boxer but some distance but Opetaia is elite and handled 6'6 hard hitting Jordan Thompson like he was nothing

Uhh yeah, Fury arguably lost to a fighter with a record of 0-0-0, then that same 0-0-0 fighter gor sparked the F out by a guy who got a severe beating from a guy who was three feet shorter and had a gut that was three feet wider.

    No to both

Fury's skill is not that great relative to size

It's only ever impressive because of how big he is

His skill is literally only great relative to his size lol, no other 6’7 265 lbs man can box like that.

Fury's S&C coach in a 2 hour interview said that in actuality, Fury was beating Opetaia up and Opetaia had 0 success. Considering how Fury ended up looking in Usyk 1, I see this as a distinct possibility.

Regardless of what I may think about Fury, he doesn't balk from tough sparring (hard sparring against Itauma, sparring Cunningham after the knockdown, etc.) and I've always thought Opetaia leaving abruptly was strange.

The man who went life and death with Cunningham aint dominating Opetaia

Right exactly we are in agreement

Meaning if you took his size out of it his skill is not special

I don't see anything news indicating that Opetaia was washed, just that Tyson Fury looked good. The man who went life and death with Cunningham aint dominating Opetaia, I don't see it

Kristian Blackrock is Fury's S&C coach. Obviously he's insanely biased, but it's also disingenuous to mention Fury's fight with Cunningham as a reference point when he had 2 competitive fights with an atg and arguably the pfp #1.

When I look at Furys real form and other sources saying the rounds were competitive. I find it a bit hard to believe he dominated Opetaia. I don't have the real details but he probably looked really good in there boxing at a high level because Opetaia called it a chess match and he thinks he left a great impression

Yea. We both know all these sources are he said she said anyway and I was definitely more on your side before the fight and before I saw this interview, but Fury looked really so good against Usyk.

Blackrock says that Opetaia's a great fighter, but Tyson was really on that day and Opetaia probably hadn't sparred in a few weeks. I also think that it could have been competitive sparring but Opetaia just realized that it wouldn't help him against Breidis to stick around.

Also it's a really great interview. Kristian Blackrock seems super honest, talks about the aftermath of the loss, views the rematch as a 50-50, but hope Fury wins, etc. etc. He could be embellishing, but I really don't think that Fury got dropped or bossed in sparring.

No, Breidis fight was more competitive. Fury had his moments but really wasn’t that hard for Usyk.

Usyk wasn't bigger than most of his opponents at CW. His 2 recorded fight night weights at CW were 207 and 208, 7lbs and 8lbs above the CW limit respectively. He would've been bigger than a few, smaller than some or roughly about the same size as most of them. He wasn't rehydrating a lot of weight after weigh ins

Jai didn't hurt Briedis as in discombobulatized him or had him in any danger of going down. He hurt him in the sense he broke his nose, just like Briedis hurt him by breaking his jaw.

And Jai fought a Briedis who was 37 and 39 y/o respectively and an inactive one who hadn't fought in almost 2 years going into the rematch and he had 2 attempts at hurting him and 24 rounds to do so against a worse and older version of Briedis than Usyk fought. Usyk fought a prime, active Briedis in his backyard

Briedis, Gassiev, and Hunter have never been dropped, let alone knocked out sans the KD Hunter suffered vs Usyk when the ref deemed the ropes had prevented him from going down

Jai is absolutely elite, has excellent skills, and he hits harder at CW than Usyk did albeit Usyk fought much better opposition than Jai has and Usyk wasn't even trying to get some of those guys he fought out of there

Jordan Thompson was saved from a certain KO loss by the bell vs a Euro level guy

Regarding who the most skilled is out of Bivol, Jai and Belly?

They all have elite skills and do certain things better than each other

We've literally never seen a SHW sized HW as slick, agile and skilled as Belly

Even when weighing 350-400lbs he looks really impressive in that regard

No offense, but Opetaia is massively overrated. He only had 2 wins overall ranked guy Breidis and his other opponents are unranked and people are ranking Opataia as one of the greatest cruiserweights ever and head to head? I need to see Opataia fight actually RANKED opposition and dominating before warranting a higher all time ranking.
