Oscar Manuel Collazo vs. Jayson Paden Vayson & Gabriela Fundora vs. Alexas Kubicki - Round by Round.

Boxing being kinda aimless, and my opportunities to watch limited, at the moment, I rushed to get in place for this one. Sounds like I'm lucky I failed. I've had enough 6 am bogus stoppages for one lifetime.

 

Definitely not worth staying up for. That stoppage was very, very disappointing.

 

I wonder if Vayson's team had money on the seventh. That was very bizarre and suspicious to say the least.

 

To be absolutely fair, Vayson's body language at the end of the sixth had Taylor asking him if he was OK. Seemed kind of odd given the success he'd enjoyed in the previous two rounds, but something seemed to alarm the ref at that point. I'll also say that Vayson did seem to be wilting a bit in the seventh, after initially landing a sweet counter early. He was taking more punches against the ropes and while not hurt seemed a bit downcast. The commentators noted that a few moments before the stoppage.

All that being said, I still think the corner gave up on their charge a bit too quickly. He's been able to reverse his fortunes a couple of times earlier and probably deserved a at least a couple more moments before calling it off.

 

This fight should be investigated. Something was Def up.

 

Was Vayson's corner paid off to do that?
