Hill did not have 20 lineal title defences. He didn't even have 1 successful defence of the lineal title. The Hill vs Maske unification fight is generally considered to have established a new lineage for the first time since Spinks, with Virgil losing lineage in his first defence vs Michalczewski.

That said, I think Hill is an underrated win for Hearns. Virgil was 30-0 including 12 x WBA title fight wins. How many former WW world titlests would have beaten him that night?

I forgot Maske had the best lineal claim during Hills 2nd reign. My bad misspoke. Still 20 defenses of a strong title.

Not many WW's are 6'1. Still agree an underrated win.

Did you stay for the whole fight? I remember people were leaving in the stands in the back ground.

    Yes.
People were leaving because it was after the main event, because Naz wanted to watch it. Me and my dad stayed because while it wasn’t a great watch, we loved Hearns. Hellacious traffic back to Liverpool after that one…
Wasn’t it Hamed vs Ingle as the main?
