One of my favorite Duran performances. He was firing on all cylinders enjoying himself. IMO he also brought a higher level of being nasty and mean in this fight. I got Duran here taking Floyd to school and then some. Duran by clean UD perhaps a stoppage

    Duran.

I still maintain that Moore would have been a fine champion with a long reign if he hadn't run into Duran in Nasty Mode.

Floyd is at his best here. This isn't a green fighter with 12 fights. Duran was past his prime. Floyd UD. I'm not one who believes in comparing performances because every matchup presents different challenges. Duran dominated Moore because he had way more experience and Moore was super young. I don't think Duran at that stage of his career is beating a high level skilled boxer in their prime. A fighter has to be at their best to beat someone like Floyd.

I've always felt that Duran beats Floyd prime for prime, but I don't see any post-prime version getting it done. He looked very good against Moore (and it could be argued that Floyd looked less than amazing against Dela Hoya), but that was partly a styles thing.

Mayweather, as a challenge, is much closer to Benitez, who an aging Duran was never going to beat.

It is true what you are saying but 154 was not a good weight for mayweather.

I always thought Floyd lost that fight, I had Oscar winning 115-113. I would favor Duran all the way. He's better than Oscar.

(he beat Kalule, Mihara, Weir, Nsubuga and then came back with a 2nd round TKO For Benitez)

Yeah so? Duran never got any gift decisions in his career the way Floyd and Oscar did.

Floyd never did. He just won his fights. And, oh yeah, that Barkley fight was very close.
