Baer, Ingo could hit but Max was more durable and a harder puncher than Patterson.

Agree which is why I picked Baer. I bet it would be a fun slugfest for a few rounds though

That’s about all she wrote in terms of due analysis.

Just keep it under your hat that I’m picking against my man Ingo in this one.

The powers that be in Valhalla/Valhall would not be pleased.

ATG? I can live with that - in the meantime, Ingo remains The Thinking Man’s GOAT.

Ah, you’re cheeky. I realised that you just edited and changed ATG to GOAT.

Sorry, I cannot co-sign that. There is but one - and that ONE is Ingo.

    Hi Pugguy.
Just before the Carnera fight a gaggle of reporters visited Bears training camp which was down on the coast, on arrival they went to the indoor purpose built gym to get a glimpse of the challenger, Bear was nowhere to be seen, so they asked one of the hired hands where he was, on the beach came the reply, ah they fought , he must be running, training every muscle to get into great shape, on arrival, Bear was not to be seen, scratching their heads, the asspired 4 sided tent in the far off distance, curious they decided to walk the few hundred yards to see what was behind the tent, once there they were met with the sight of 4 young beauties, 2 on either side of Max, what is this all about enquired the cub reporter, Bear patting the top of a small sand castle with a spade replied " building up my wrists " nuff said.
    stay safe buddy, chat soon.
    Mike.

    Hahaha. Great stuff Mike.

And Baer doing his sandcastle wrist building routine was fortunately recorded on film with a similarly “energetic” Buddy right alongside Maxie.

What an ATG character Baer was. He’d make great copy and pull in his fair share of fans if he was around fighting today.

Agree. Potentially similar to a Foreman-Lyle type affair with Baer ultimately getting the last word in

Going to go against the grain here and say Ingo befuddles Baer to a decision win. Baer might’ve had top-notch power but wasn’t particularly effective at putting it to use at world-class level aside from a listless Schmeling.

Ingo the much more skilled boxer, and that Bingo will find a frequent home, given Baer’s utter lack of defense.

Ingo also has the tools necessary to outbox Baer which isn’t that hard to do looking at Baer’s losses to even second rate boxers.

Unless Ingo gets caught he stands a good chance of winning, both guys had great power, Baer had a greater chin but he seemed unable or unwilling to avoid his opponents punches. Against someone who hits as hard as Ingo this will be a bad idea. Ingo is limited but he is much more refined than Max.
Ingo by KO, inside of 10.
