Clearly a British Heavyweight title being on BBC is a big plus.

It will be interesting to see how manage only 4 dates a year.

If pitched at a right level this could be very good. I fear the budget could lead to lots of Adam Azim vs a 100/1 shot type fights.

Going Back to the old Boxxer tournaments would be a good move 2 times a year

Good news for boxing fans and great exposure for anyone fighting on terrestrial TV.

A cacophony of noise as the bell sounds for the first stanza of this British HW title fight

Ronald MacIntosh if on commentary will certainly appeal to the usual BBC2 audience on a Saturday night ;)

At approximately the same time Fabio squares off with Joe Parker, then Fundora - Thurman a few hours later.
Meanwhile next to nothing last, and this weekend.

Doubt he’ll fight on there tbh. These days you can be with a promoter but not fight on their shows. Anthony Joshua’s last 3 fights haven’t been on Matchroom shows, Katie Taylor’s last 2 haven’t etc.

Another occasion where boxing promoters, TV scheduling and common sense all work against each other.

Wardley v Parker live for me and I record BBC show.

    Awful scheduling.

With only 4 shows per year, there are plenty of free weeks so clashes are avoidable.

This fight should be over well before Parker v Wardley though, so plenty of scope to watch both live. Can’t see Warren pulling a storming undercard out of nowhere in the next few weeks.

Two decent enough fights, but not exactly a brilliant offering for a PPV card

Over-inflated sportswashing purses to fight on Saudi undercards will have a disastrous effect on British boxing for years to come.

Is the four fight deal for terrestrial TV only? Might not be a sensible move for iplayer to put on some smaller events to build their involvement.

Crikey, that’s a decent but pretty standard BT/TNT Saturday night card, but PPV? eek

Boxing's back on the BBC and it starts with a British heavyweight title fight, which will attract the casuals and the mildly-curious. So far, so good. And it's on the same night as another big heavyweight fight. The sport really does itself no favours at times.

No way I’ll be paying for Parker vs Wardley even though I do want to watch the fight. I can’t support that level of fight being on PPV.

Sadly I think any fight considered the slightest bit above ‘British title level’ will be PPV going forwards. End of the year looks absolutely ridiculous with the amount of PPVs there will be.
