Why would you be disgusted? The UFC puts on 2/3 cards a year that are better than any card boxing card this century. When was the last time boxing had a card that either wasn’t boring as hell all the way through or had more than 2 elite fighters on a card?
Please, boxing puts on exiting cards all of the time. On most weekends we get something good to enjoy. UFC has gone down in quality. I would like to see what 2/3 cards you are talking about. The upcoming The Ring IV card is a big one; Benavidez vs Yarde, Norman Jr. vs Haney, Bam Bam vs Martinez. But it could end up like the last big Saudi card that attempted a major lineup, you know, the shitshow headlined by Ryan Garcia and Rolly Romero.
317, 314, Taira Vs Park, Imavov Vs Borralho 311 also was insanely good and would have been even better if it wasn’t for Arman pulling out and killing the main event. I also didn’t watch 318, I’ve watched the main card and thought it was a little over hyped considering my friends loved it, but I knew the results whilst watching so it’s never quite the same. And we still have 3 months of the year to go with some huge cards lined up. You are right though the UFC has fallen down a peg and their matchmaking is horrific, yet they still manage to put together better cards, get the best fighters in the world to fight each other (for the most part) and can afford to have 3 of the top 10 pfp fighters on the same card coming up this Sunday. Pains me to say it as a boxing guy, but that’s just the way I see it and have been made to eat my words, the up coming ring card should be a banger though.
Nah, when I think of great UFC cards I think of cards like 217, or 205, or 259. 317 was good, but there is no ****ing reason why Michael Chandler should have been the co-main for 314 - it just shows their decline. Imavov vs Borraldho was good, but we have such cards almost weekly in boxing.
What cards are you talking about? Almost weekly as well? That’s a long list, at least 20 you must be referring to considering we are 40 weeks into the year. Maybe I outgrew boxing, maybe my attention span is declining with age and maybe I have a bit of new toy syndrome or a combination of all of those. It is kind of like comparing apples to oranges though. The UFC for the most part has the best fighting the best, more elements of combat, more upsets and normally far more bang for your buck in terms of action to duration of the fights.
Belal Vs Gary Hooker Vs Arman Should be a great card. With Arman being so highly ranked I feel he’s got the better draw here. Hookers had injury issues, out the ring for a while. Still no Shavkhat. JDM Islam next month. Usman probably sitting and waiting. Exciting times Edit: And Leon and Prates. Hopefully all of these guys can get back in the ring early ish next year.
