Yes. Hearn and Matchroom did a tremendous job marketing him. They've still got many people fooled.

That period from late 2023 until DDD creampied AJ at wembley should be studied by psychologists.

They had not just the casuals, but experienced hardcores saying he was better than ever after beating jermain frankfurter, fossil helenius, plumber wallin & a 0-1 MMA fighter.

Human beings, especially the thick as fook ones, truly are fascinating

In my opinion definitely Joshua. Hearn tried to sell AJ as the great champion he never was. Canelo was definitely stronger than AJ and had a better career (and a better legacy) in my opinion. I consider the Mexican a great of his era but not an ATG.

    It’s AJ and I can’t stand Canelo.
AJ is a stiff Glass Jawed Fighter with no Ring IQ.

    Both solid fighters.

    AJ was good.

    Canelo was great.

On this assessment, AJ more hyped. I do feel Canelo competing against the myriad of good to very good to great fighters gives him the clear cut superior resume. He is not overy-hyped.

Don't forget, people have knocked fighters and quickly reinstated their dues. Shakur against De Los Santos, Usky against Dubois 1, Kostya vs Vince Phillips, Ricky against Manny.

Good thread, but AJ had lesser opponents to contend with.
