Was watching Cooper vs Mercer and Chuvalo was a smaller version of Mercer. Could he defeat Cooper like Mercer did?
I went with chuvalo by stoppage.. Cooper’s stamina plagued him his entire career. He was awesome in the first 5-7 rounds of a match and then he faded. I can see his style, power, quickness and left hook giving George all kinds of problems and with Bert winning the first half of the fight on the cards. But chuvalo was durable. He fought some of the greatest men of all time and did so on a few occasions. He was a true endurance fighter with a sound inside fighting game which is where most of the match would take place. And while George isn’t commonly credited as being a big hitter he DID manage to stop 64 of his 73 victims. Still this would be an amazing fight lasting probably 8-11 rounds with a lot of inside exchanges and both men taking a battering.
Hi mr. magoo. Spot on, agree with all your sentiments, a tour de force breakdown of a fight that would be all out war for 2 thirds of the distance, then Cooper begins to fold, very few would be able to go toe to toe with Chuvalo for the duration. many thanks, stay safe buddy, chat soon. Mike.
Chuvalo grinds him down for a stoppage, Cooper starts fast and punches himself out and gets taken out mid-late rounds most likely, but it’s a good fight.
