You don't think Kovalev has a chance ?

Jones imo but he would be very respectable of his power

If we are talking prime Kovalev then I pick him.

A long, accurate jab is always helpful against the speedsters, and Kovalev had it.

He also had great footwork to keep the fight at his preferred distance for long stretches. Then there is the chin and power factor. Kovalev had a good chin, and Jones had a poor chin. Kovalev had effortless, crushing power, and while Jones had good power himself, it was not the same level imho.

If RJJ gets cracked a good one it could be lights out whereas Kovalev has taken bombs from big power punchers and came out ok on the other side.

Kovalev was an excellent fighter. At 175, I think he beats Jones. I feel Jones was at his best at 160, Kovalev was at his best at 175. Would have been a very interesting match up.

I mean, I'm not writing off Jones by any means. Just watching the two guys in tapes side by side. It's easy to forget just how fast and twitchy Jones was even at 175.

Of course. I think at 175, with that great jab, Kovalev would be a little too much. But in no way, shape or form could Jones be written off or have no chance. I see it as a 55/45 type fight. Close no doubt.

Prime Kovalev. Tough to pick against him at 175.

I said this 10+ years ago when Kovalev was still peak, undefeated and riding the wave. 10+ years later we can now look back at Kovalev's entire career. He would not have heard the final bell against Roy.
