He is an ATG for sure, but yeah, his HW resume by itself is only 8 fights spread across 5 opponents, and its not the best level of opposition either.

Fury has top tier elite recovery ability and heart. Doesn’t matter how bad he gets hurt, he shakes it off quickly and gets back into the fight, never panics, never gives up.

it’s never easy beating a guy with those intangibles. That KO of Dubois by Usyk? Does anyone think for a second that Fury wouldn’t have got right up from that? He’d have got right up and started fighting like nothing had happened to him.

the Fury wins count for something.

    He's a certified GOAT

    European gold medalist

Won all those gold medals on the road

He was robbed in the 2008 Olympics against the eventual semi-finalist that year

Oldest undisputed HW champion of all time

2nd oldest unified HW champion of all time

5th oldest HW champion of all time

Never been knocked down as a pro

    Never been knocked out

Never even been badly hurt as a pro

Won and unified all his world titles in his opponent's backyards sans his last title which if we're being honest might as well have been in his opponent's backyard

He has never had home advantage in a single one of his world title fights or fights at the world level with the exception of once and that was fought in a neighbouring country to his own so it's not actually his home country

He has always sought out the best and has never ducked anyone

Not only that but he has routinely sought out the best in their backyards where the deck is stacked against him or heavily against him

He wins all his fights via clean boxing. No fouling, no deck-stacking, no ducking certain styles or punchers, no stinking out the joint, no refusing to sign on the dotted line unless the playing field is stacked in his favour

He's been exemplary and everything he has achieved amateur and pro has not only been achieved the right and honourable way but it's also been achieved the hard way, treading a path so many others and other greats would never even contemplate treading

Every world class opponent he's fought was 36 or younger and let's not forget he was almost 35 when he won his 1st HW world title and 37 when he unified the division

    AJ 31 and 32
    Belly 35 and 36
    Dubois 25 and 27
    Chisora 36
    Gassiev 24
    Briedis 33
    Huck 32
    Glowacki 30
    Bellew 35
    Hunter 28
    Mchunu 28

All of them beaten in their backyards or on the road sans Dubois 1 which, again, was in Poland

Belly, AJ II, Mchunu were on neutral soil but the first two weren't really neutral if we're being honest and he was robbed by one of the judges in the AJ fight and also by one of the judges in the Belly fight too

He beat 7 of the 8 world champions he's fought in their backyards, the 8th being Belly in Saudi and the only reason he didn't beat him in the UK at least once too is because Belly ducked fighting him over here

    There is never no

    ''That guy's too big''

''I need the deck stacked in my favour before I sign on the dotted line''

''I'm not fighting him in his backyard''

''I need home refs and judges to fight that guy''

    ''That guy hits too hard''

    With Usyk

Apply the aforementioned to your current favs and so many of those who came before him and see how ill-fitting the shoe is

Regardless of what happens from here on out no man in the history of the sport can ever boast of beating a prime Usyk

Its a tweener division. Why don't SMW lifers win often at LHW or 154 lifers win often at MW? Because any CW who could win the HW belt is probably going to be a HW.

It is futile to try to underestimate Usyk, who, like Tyson and Lewis, did not allow himself to lose to fighters who are not at the world level. Accept the fact that Usyk is the best ever.

I’m convinced some people here are sexually attracted to Usyk.

Funny how Fury and AJ were considered bums until Usyk beat them.

His late HW run is just the icing on the cake of his full career.

Both cake and icing are probably the best outcomes anyone could ask for in relation to the opportunities available at the time.

Fury went from "embarassment to the sport" to "the greatest fighter who ever lived H2H" in less than 6 months.

I mean most of us are sexually attracted to Muhammad Ali, but you can't blame us for that jk.

But yeah, Usyks run is not that impressive. We were talking about how this Super Heavyweight Era is unskilled, but now all of a sudden these two were great and such.

The Heavyweight Divison has been a joke since Tyson left. I basically just have watched Wilder, Joshua, Fury like it is a circus show.
Crawford,Canelo,Inoue and a few more is basically what is holding this sport together. And before them it was Manny,Floyd, Cotto,Marquez and those guys.

The heavyweight Divsion has been either boring, or. a circus act since Evander,Lennox,Mikes time

I know you are secretly his biggest fan. It doesn’t matter if you fancy him in that way. We don’t judge over here. Keep being the fan that you are.

I havent seen many say hes “the goat”

being an ATG and a GOAT are way different….

His run is about as good as it possibly could be, and its objectively good also.

Fury and AJ (2nd fight) both were clearly in some of the best form they’ve been in for years.

    I think you’re hating a bit.

I’m not so sure what they expected him to do. He had two warm up fights at heavyweight and went for the top guys. Is it his fault those were the people there? He wanted the belts, got them, honestly I don’t begrudge him anything. Hopefully he fights Parker or kabayel or wardley (if he wins) next and vacates so others can fight for the belts

So should we start using the same argument for Tyson then?
Remember, he dominated the entire divsion for about 4-5 years in his first run. And people call him a bum
