Now that Vasyl Lomachenko is retired we know that 135lbs. was too big for him.

So, where does he rate among the best Featherweights (126 lbs.) to Super Featherweights (130 lbs.) since the 1980's?

How would he have done head-to-head with guys like Salvador Sanchez, Alexis Arguello, Eusebio Pedroza, Marco Antonio Barrera, Juan Manuel Marquez, Erik Morales, Azumah Nelson, Naseem Hamed, Junior Jones, Chris John, etc.

Wins some, loses some. Nobody runs the gambit with that group you listed. If I had to bet, I'd say he beats, Chris John, Junior Jones, Nelson, Hamed. Tough to call on the 3 amigo's from Mexico. I'd bet against him on Sanchez and Arguello. No disrespect to Pedroza, I never seen his fights.

Arguello's height and power would make Loma too tentative to take chances just like Lopez did to Loma.

Pedroza would be too rough and physical for Loma.

Nelson's aggression I think would be a problem for Loma but Whitaker did run rings around Nelson so maybe Loma could frustrate him with his movement also.

Sanchez/JMM are both master counter punchers who had issues when they had to lead i could see both having issues with Loma. But Sanchez always found a way to win against fighters who gave him stylistic issues. And JMM excelled vs southpaws especially with his right hand lead counter.

I'd favour Barrera over Loma he was better on the front foot than JMM and his body punching would take its toll on Loma.

All in all Loma probably wins against the good to very good fighters on that list like John, Jones, Hamed, etc.

But the great ones on that list he probably loses more than he wins.

I wouldn’t count him out against any of them Loma is not an easy fight for anybody.
I reckon Loma v JMM would be an awesome fight.

Lomachenko is the most dominant FW/SFW in history, he barely lost a round, making P4P and world class fighters quit consecutively.

He was something special. He beats them all.

    Come on, he beats everyone.
He only looked vulnerable when he faced fighters comically bigger. And even there he was very close to winning. And he still handled some guys 5'9 like Campbell.
If he'd been smarter and stuck closer to his weight, and didn't fight that fouler in his first pro fight, he could have had no losses.
Got a bit cocky and it cost him a perfect record.
People will claim it doesn't matter and he 'dared to great', I think he dared to be stupid and it definitely haunts him to take the losses he did.
