A very, very good fight I’m not sure on a winner but I lean Bennie.

Based on Bennie's fights with Carlos Monzon I have to choose Crawford but Bennie is a live underdog. I think Bennie should be in the IBHOF.

    Hi Guys.
Ahhhh, Bad Bennie, the memorys, he achieved near mythical status in the early to mid 70s, and that's without winning a title, was there ever a more exciting fighter, I don't know who thrilled me more Bennie or Danny Lopez, great time to be a boxing fan, he epitomized the blue collar boxer, work during the day, train at night and weekends, he had some early learning losses, mainly to the boxer type, he could be a tad slow underfoot, very few sluggers had the better of him, he hit his stride with the first Valdez fight, whilst he was outpointed, he sent the durable box puncher to hospital for some r and r , there paths would cross again, and the vastly underrated Columbian would pay Bennie back in spades, I would venture any MW apart from the elite, would not rest easy the night before a fight with Briscoe, over here we had only read about him in BN or the Ring, when it was worth buying, so some time in the mid 70s I sent off to America for this chap to send me a DVD, remember them, of Bennie, I waited about 3 weeks from memory, living with mum and dad in those days, and got on their nerves with " has the postman been yet " finally it did, there he was in all his glory, bald head, star of david on shorts, dark and menacing, and the guy had some room on the disc so he put a few fights of Napoles !!! that was a lottery win for me, suffice to say the disc was worn out after a few months, yea me and Bennie go back.
    stay safe guys, chat soon.
    Mike.

This is a fight i actually like Crawford in. He'd fight in the same style as he did against Canelo, tho he'd have to be busier as Bennie would keep on chugging after him. I think Crawford would outbox him, but it'd be a tougher fight than say, the one with Canelo. Crawford would have to do a lot more work. We'd certainly see if his stamina holds up. I'd lean toward a Crawford decision but i wouldn't ridicule a pick for Bennie. Canelo was pretty damn ordinary the other day, while Crawford was excellent.

Briscoe with Victor Conte and his ''advice'' would look look different to the Bad Bennie of the 70s. In Briscoe's era it wouldn't be possible for a former champion at 135 to be ripped to the bone at 168 as a man in his late 30s. It's an unfair comparison.
