The real reason Allen took the fight, the risks he faces

I can't believe this is viewed as a 50-50 fight. If Mak loses it would be one of the most pathetic things ever to happen in boxing.

 

With the crowd rallying behind him, I think Allen might just get the win.

 

Why he's nothing special

 

Maks already struggled with fighters around Allan's level ( different attributes but Vianellio is no world level fighter) so if Dave wins its not that huge a shock. Mak looks good puncher but there's not a lot left after that. If Allan can land his own big shots things will get interesting quickly.

 

Allen will probably quit on his stool then come back in 2 years saying how he’s training harder than ever and this time it’s different.

 

Vianellio is at the very least European level
Is Allen?

It's a fun match up however

 

Allen still has the Fisher 3 fight whatever happens in this one and probably one other in between, a win here though could catapult him in to the BIG money fight that secures his future.

 

I think he's been on the verge of it before around the Browne figtht. But his career has wandered a bit and he's not been able to grab another headline win. He was poor against Clarke but I do think Mak is flawed... Not sure if Allan can box well enough to get the win but while everyone says he tough, people forget he does carry a bit of a punch. and in his last loss Mak and his opponent basically walked forward in straight lines winging ugly looking shots at each other. If Allan can find some craft and handle the power he's in with a shot.

Should be fun if nowt else.

Dave is special.

 

Makhmudov is 11/10 to beat Allen - it would be rude not to steam into these odds.

 

If Dave can avoid the big punches..which I think he can, Mak is crude, and get his head on Mak's chest and work that big body, he could have some success. Mak within four or Allen after...Mak and Zhang are the world heavyweight champs of meagre gas tanks and big power...

 

It's hard not to root for Dave he's a likeable bloke I've just got a horrible feeling he's going to get beat up badly here.
Mak within 5 for me.

 

For all his marketability Dave's never looked much above Area level. Good luck to him and I hope he gets a few good earners but let's be honest about this one.
