Ryan Garcia doesn’t think Gennady Golovkin is a Hall of Famer

Something we can agree on. Garcia certainly is not a hall of famer.

 

Some people just say whatever comes into their heads

 

I do think that the HOF barrier is too low, and Golovkin never truly cemented himself as even the nr 1 middleweight. However, by the HOF´s own standards he clearly makes the cut, and you dont even have to make the Arturo Gatti argument for him.

Beat a few decent journeymen and C level guys on his way up; Nunez, Ouma, and Simon(very underrated win).
Beat genuine top 10 middleweights; Proksa, Macklin, Stevens, Geale, Murray, Lemieux, Jacobs, and Derevyanchenko.
And then there are guys like Rosado, Brook, Murata, Monroe Jr., Rubio, Ishida.

Oh, and also the fact that he went the distance with only 2 of the names here that I listed. Golovkin is absolutely a lock for HOF.

 

Ryan Garcia won't be able to make the HOF. GGG is cusp and getting robbed his first Canelo victory was a farce.

He was fairly clearly the best 160-lber from around 2012 to 2017 imo. Funnily enough, I checked the Ring rankings for MW and the first time GGG was ranked as the best middle when the lineage was vacant was in 2020 after he'd beaten Szeremeta, but he was ranked as the best middle from 2013 to 2022 even though he never claimed the lineage.

 

Who cares what that ****ing ****** has to say. He lost to Rolly Romero...There's nothing else to say. He should retire and hang out with Bozo the Clown.

 

I am sure GGG will be so upset when he finds out Ryan Garcia thinks he shouldn't make the HOF

 

I can't imagine someone who has an opinion which means less that Ryan Garcia on this subject.

 

Garcia should make it into the HoF for calling Haney Diddy’s side piece, then beating him up in a decent upset… lol

 

I actually like Ryan for dribbling Devin Haney off the canvas like a basketball. But he looked like **** and embarrassed himself against Rolly.

I was hoping he would get his **** together and work hard to improve after that, but instead he’s doing all this media **** when he doesn’t even have a fight to promote. He’s drifting back towards influencer status.

 

I don't think Golovkin is an ATG and against upper echelon opposition I don't think he looked that great in regards to the hype he got.

But for his achievements I think he's definitely deserving of the Hall of Fame.
