Ryan Garcia doesn’t think Gennady Golovkin is a Hall of Famer

GGG is a perfect example of how Bias rules boxing. Resume only matters when it's someone people have a bias against.

GGG is one of the most overrated boxers of all-time. Does not belong on the HOF.

Golovkin might not have achieved much, but the reason his resume is not strong is that he was largely avoided between 2011 and 2015. It's so well-documented, and I've gone through it so many times on here with people that I cannot be bothered going through it again.

Highlights of GGG's career include Olympic silver and world gold as an amateur, more middleweight title defenses than any other fighter in history, and being ranked the P4P King for an entire year, from September 2017 to 2018, so yeah, definitely a HOF fighter. I'm sure nobody at the IBHOF is going to be listening to the dude who made Rolly look like Roberto Duran anyway.

Someone who promotes himself as Ryga shouldn't be allowed to have an opinion on anything.

I'm surprised, noting Garcia's tenuous day to day grip on reality, if he can regularly remember where the neighborhood Circle K is. Asking him to be a thoughtful Boxing Historian with coherent takes is like expecting a paraplegic to turn somersaults.

Garcia just runs his mouth. You talk about a media sensation without skills to back it up. That would be Garcia. Garcia is really talking about himself.

When I look at an HOFer, they have to dominate their division (check), they have to create a buzz every time they step in the ring (check), they have to create exciting fights (check) and they have to be consistently outstanding, with a record to prove it (check).

Golovkin made a career of making good fighters look very mediocre. That is how good he was. And he dominated all types of styles, from bangers to runners to slicksters.

Why do we even listen to a guy like Garcia, who is a wannabe? GGG was the man for a decade.

Hands down, first ballot HOF. Golovkin has my vote.

Who cares about amateur highlights in the pro ranks. He doesn’t have the most MW defenses, the WBA regular belt doesn’t count as a real belt, Hopkins still holds the record. I agree though, GGG did just enough to squeak by the HoF.
