Whittaker is 28 and has drawn a decent crowd to one fight, a rematch that captured the public's attention because he shamelessly quit the first fight. The guy doesn't have a fan base and doesn't have the personality that will build one. Matchmaking will be a really tricky balancing act to keep him winning while not getting slaughtered by the public for avoiding dangerous opposition.
Hearn has been desperatly looking for the new face for Matchroom in the UK for a while now, especially since AJ's star power took a nose dive and is not far away from retirement. Can Whittaker do the job? I'm not so sure. He's a good fighter, but can see him getting beaten when he steps up to world level. If I were Ben I'd probably have chosen QP. Frank is better at matching his opponents.

Whitaker gets squished by all of the main guys at the top end of the LHW scene. He lacks imo any serious pop. Bivol, Beterbiev, Smith, Yarde, Buatsi, Benavidez, Parker, Gvozdyk all beat him. Lets see him in the ring with Hutchinson. This would be a marker. Both at a similar level right now. Does Frank still have Hutchinson on the books? I'm sure he'd love to pop Hearns new bubble.
