Lewis is a terrible analyst. He is also not a coach. And he has zero inside knowledge in Usyk's camp. We can't have a thread named "Usyk to retire" when there is zero evidence that he is planning such a thing.

There was no jealousy there, just advice. And Lewis isn't wrong either. And change your name, there's nothing old school about you.

I don't think him liking the post means much at all.

But the reality is that we don't actually know what state Usyk is in. He apparently has hard camps, and obviously goes all out in the ring.

For all we know he could be struggling to get out of bed in the morning and hobbling around the house in pain and just using pain killers and putting on a show for his public appearances.

But on the flip side he might feel 30 years old and be absolutely keen and fine for another fight. We'll just have to wait and see.

    I suspect he’s physically done.

Same, while I think he could continue to fight at a high level I think it won't be to the standard he is used to or expects and he runs the risk of a loss. I think the camps and fights take a lot more out of him these days.

Like I said before, his former promoter Krassyuk said he will do everything within his power to convince his good friend to retire

Usyk's manager Egis Klimas seemed more keen on Usyk going into movies and having a crossover fight in MMA than continuing with his boxing career

Usyk's assistant trainer and cutman Russ Anber said Usyk has achieved everything he could and has everything to lose and nothing to gain from continuing boxing and that he would rather see him sail off into the sunset whilst still at the top

Did you happen to see Emily Blunt's interview. She talks about Usky being highly motivated by funfetti cake on set. Pretty funny.

Lewis ran away from the Vitali rematch like a puzz.

How about 4 more fights, $50M each, which makes $200M? That's far from "nothing".

See, this is exactly why Usyk should fight Parker. Lewis even fought Vitali and won and people still say this, imagine what they will say if Usyk doesn't fight Parker?

Especially considering that Parker is a more proven fighter at this point than Vitali was when he got the Lewis fight.

He has already earned in the hundreds of millions. He could have 4 more fights and earn hundreds of millions more and the same argument could still be made after he's done so. He's the oldest ever undisputed HW champion. The 2nd oldest unified HW champ. The 5th oldest HW champion ever. And he has already lamented spending so much time away from his family and missing out on his children growing up and them missing out on having their father there as much as they want him to be and he wants to be. You can't put a price on that and legacy.

At a time when boxers constantly duck and let fights "marinate", Usyk has beaten all of his top rivals with the exception of Wilder but the timing of that fight never would have made sense.

Usyk has already achieved greatness so from now he just needs to do what he wants to do. If he fancies some easy cash out fights, I'm cool with that.

The only fight that I think might add to his legacy is Itauma.

I don't agree with that sentiment. Lennox is looking out for Usyk's legacy as are most of his fans. Most of his fans want him to retire so he keeps his unbeaten record. If he keeps fighting and loses, then people might see his legacy go down in the ATG rankings.

That said, I think Usyk should retire whever he feels ready. If he still has that fire he should keep going. He just proved he is the best in the world, hasn't slowed down, and hasn't come close to losing a fight. I think he should bang out a few more until his team sees visible signs of slowing down.

I'm also of the mindset that a fighter losing past their prime doesn't take away their ATG rankings for me. RJ jr may have had a steep downfall past his prime, but honestly I don't think any fighter in his weight class could take him on prime for prime.

If I was Usyk I would retire he has cleaned out the division there are some good contenders but nobody that anyone is really clamoring for him to fight. The only way he loses would be due to father time but because of how disciplined and well conditioned he is he could easily go around for another few years. I think that he genuinely enjoys fighting as he is a master so good chance he sticks around for a few more pay days.
