No what aha he achieved he has arguably lost to every elite fighter he’s faced, Caleb plant and all those European fighters were b level at best. Soo no he’s more overrated than anything.

One thing I'll say is that even with the losses to P4P greats, close calls, and questionable decision(s), he went a lot further than I expected when I watched him against the likes of Tyner, Jose Cotto, and guys like Hatton and Rhodes. I didn't see a future Hall of Famer who'd go on to win titles up to light heavyweight. I was way off.

Canelo was seen as the next Mexican great when he first coming up. I was actually high on Canelo. I thought he would end up being a great fighter. Obviously he had some limitations with his foot speed and stamina but he still was a talented fighter IMO. I guess it depends on how some viewed Canelo coming up. I would say based on the hype he had and what he accomplished, no he didn’t overachieve

Which prime light heavyweight did he beat to win those titles? Which prime fighter did he ever beat to be considered great?

He has made the most of his talents, yes. We have, without doubt, seen his ceiling. He's not so much an overachiever as a cash cow. Canelo and Joshua are the two fighters of the past decade who have B+ talent and A results due to stardom.

    No.

He's fought a who's who in boxing and proven he undoubtedly belongs at that level.

Crawford, Mayweather and Bivol all soundly beat him.

Golovkin was robbed of a decision.

    Benavidez was ducked.

But he was always at that top of boxing over the past 14 years.

He's an ATG and weve been lucky to watch him over such a long period of time taking on all comers (apart from 1)

He's a product of hype and without his solid chin he'd have been less than mediocre

Flat footed, one dimensional and ugly.

Mosley, Trout, Floyd, Angulo, Lara, Kirkland, Cotto, GGG x3, Smith brothers, BJS, Plant, Kovalev, Ryder, Munguia, Berlanga, Bivol, Crawford.

Probably left some out. Canelo also signed to fight Paul Williams and Victor Ortiz but injuries stopped those fights.

Canelo indeed fought a whose who and only lost to a handful of fighters. Hes either a fringe ATG or just beneath it. For the most part, Canelo took the hard fights - which is something majority of fighters do NOT do. No PBC fighter does what Canelo did, thats for sure.

I agree. The only criticism is he ducked Benavidez.
