Exactly. People act like Roy didn't get hit in his prime. Toney was landing counter right hands over Jones left hook. Bhop landed right hands, Sosa landed, Ruiz even rocked Roy early in their right with a right to the top of the head. He took plenty of shots and took them well before the Tarver KO which was after the weight drop and 16 year long career.
Ezzard Charles beats Jones and convincingly I got Ezz timing some of Jones's wide shots and hurting him with a neat little check hook or short cross Also Jones whilst being an incredible athlete with unbelievable speed didn't have the best footwork and Ezzard was a master ring general, he'd make Roy very uncomfortable before he stopped him Roy would obviously have a chance, his speed alone gives him it, he'd have to be absolutely perfect with the perfect game plan and make more adjustments than he made in his career, and I don't see him doing this well Ezzard TKO9 in a 60/40
Do you see a world where Roy's shocking speed and power combo are enough to offset Ezz's more correct approach? How do you see Ezz overcoming the speed differential? I can envision Roy going to the ropes eventually and getting caught as he turns his head away from a punch with his eyes closed. I think master boxers like Ezz are good enough to get him with that one shot when he habitually places himself in a position where only reflex can save him. I dread to think what Moore could do if he gets the trap right. The one LHW that I'm not sure on is Foster. Roy would soundly outbox him but if he lands the hook or straight right - I don't think Roy recovers.
