Might be a dumb question, but hypothetically, could Usyk lose his belt for not being a heavyweight. He is close to technically not being a heavyweight

Like lose it on the scales? I believe there is no weight limit on heavyweight, including no minimum weight.

He could come in at 200lbs if he wants.

Its a good question, and nope Usyk wouldn't lose his belt for that.

An example of this would be when Roy Jones Jr beat John Ruiz at HW to win the WBA belt, and Jones Jr was 193 pounds, whereas Ruiz was 226 pounds.

But cruiser was 190 at the time. I am too young to have followed at that time, but why didnt RJJ go to cruiser after the fight? He said cutting but to lhw ruined him

You mean if Usyk goes to Bridgerweight would he lose his Heavyweight titles? Not necessarily, it would depend on each individual sanctioning body, they would strip him of his titles if they thought he couldn't fulfill his requirements as champ at Heavyweight.

If you are the heavyweight champ and you lose to anyone, you are no longer the heavyweight champion. Weight does not matter. If Naoya Inoue knocks out Usyk tomorrow he is the heavyweight champ and the baddest man on the planet.

Bridgerweight can s a d too, nothing but a money grab and another artificial weight class that is not needed.

Not sure why RJJ did not go to CW around that time to be honest. I'd guess there was more money and reward at HW, plus he'd already conquered MW, SMW, and LHW then.

Going straight back to LHW from HW affected RJJ badly. However, RJJ eventually did fight at CW but not til his 40s.
