It was longer than the total of Foreman’s two reigns and he beat more guys in the top ten than Foreman did in his career during that time.

It also shows that you’re just trying to justify emotions if you think Tyson was all there for Douglas.

If we believe Tyson was in his prime against Douglas, then we must also believe Douglas should have been champion since 1986. No one has yet agreed with this, but many people seem to be okay with this paradox.
Tyson took a ton of punches from Douglas, losing 9 of 10 rounds before being knocked out.
In my opinion, both Foreman and Tyson are jaw-dropping giants. It's impossible to measure who had the better punch. Both were incredibly resilient and, in their prime, very difficult to stop. Hough

None of this changes the fact Tyson was 23 years old and the undisputed champion when he was brutally knocked out by average hitting Douglas who never KOd anyone notable outside of Tyson himself.

Funnily bringing up Douglas isn’t as damming as Ali, if you’re going to ignore the context like with Douglas on what lead up to the KO then I could easily just say a smaller and even more average puncher KO’d GF in 7 rds… It absolutely is a “Gotcha” Foreman was almost stopped by the only puncher he ever fought in the 70s (and apparently the hardest he fought) Tyson absolutely hits harder or as hard and that ain’t weird to suggest… in the Lyle fight the first right hand almost sent GF to showers to see Jesus and he was on rubber legs all night, stumbling and tumbling MT never looked that helpless in and around his prime and ate punches like a champ what’s there to damn? It’s evident Prime GF was not as durable as Prime MT - Tyson Lyle’s him and finishes it fast, I don’t think anyone would try to suggest Lyle just hit THAT much harder then MT? - would you?

Douglas and Foreman fought nothing alike, I’m not sure why I’d need to point that out, it also probably means I couldn’t change your opinion on any of this :sisi1 so you’ve said GF will apply Douglas’s gameplan? (Previous post) and that he can be just as light (fast?) on his feet? That GF’s jab was similar or better than Ali’s? SS who is this mythical fighter you’ve created in your head?….Is it a bird or plane?… A lot of this is just repeating yourself in disguise “Foreman will push him, then hit him” I explained how to counter that milord, take it or leave it. What Larry did was working for a combination of things, not things GF could do, another such thing GF was not capable of is walking Mike Tyson down… Foreman successfully walked Ken Norton down by stretching his right out and parrying (smothering?) his jab at the source, oooh ahhhh, I think my Nan could cut the ring with KN’s lame leg… Frazier had GF on the back foot for the time he was fighting and not being bludgeoned, he’s not the fighter people say he is.

Ali stopped several notable heavies besides Foreman, Douglas did not.

If Ali was "small", how about Holyfield? Or does this not count either for some reason?

That's two non-punchers who stopped "Iron" Mike when he was still championship worthy. I think getting stopped 2x by medium hitters is significantly worse than getting "almost" stopped by a big puncher.

Now, are you ready to admit it's foolish to apply the chin of a post prison Tyson to 88 Tyson, or are we going to keep playing games like you always do? Otherwise, 73 Foreman gets the feat of tanking Morrison, Holyfield, and Briggs shots.

Douglas could punch a bit but it wasn’t the point I was making but anyway… We already agree Lyle is the limit of GF’s chin he said it was the hardest puncher he fought and look what it did, Tyson hits as hard or harder and absolutely can hurt him just as badly and would, though he’d finish it, In referring to Holyfield and Douglas’s power (initial part of this post) if you apply context it’s very similar to Foreman being stopped by Ali in Zaire which is the point but you seem to have missed that, Tyson had to be beaten down and worn out (Again Like GF in Zaire) MT in and around his prime ate shots from Lyle like punchers without issue, Foreman went down from the first right hand… “tanking” feats of Foreman in the 80s are a bit complicated considering he was 50lbs heavier and fought nothing like before he was also (importantly) not dehydrated like the 73 version - unless you think being dehydrated has no bearing on your durability?… I’ve explained why GF’s chin would seem better in the 80s but you keep ignoring it for some reason?

So I guess Morrison, Briggs, etc are chop liver? If Foreman said Lyle hit him the hardest, that means those guys in the 90's were soft and didn't test his chin?

No one said Tyson can't hurt Foreman, that was never the discussion. You're making a mountain out of a molehill with Lyle. Foreman could absolutely hurt Tyson who was stopped by multiple boxers who didn't have 50% of Foreman's power. They both can hurt each other. I'm still confused why you think bringing up fights where Tyson got knocked out is supposed to support the idea he had a better chin.

I'm ignoring it because it's hypocrisy. Tyson in the 90's wasn't Tyson in 88. If you want to praise Tyson's chin for fights that happens in the future, we can do the same thing for Foreman.

Man, there is zero evidence of Foreman being on PED’s. You should be embarrassed that you have stooped that low.

Also, why do you keep bringing up Ron Lyle to try and prove Foreman had an average chin? Ron Lyle hit like a pickaxe. And Foreman won the fight.

Lyle almost certainly hit harder than Buster Douglas and we all know how that ended up for Tyson.

And there can be absolutely no argument that Foreman hits harder than all of them but you fail to address in any of your posts how Tyson deals with that sort of power.

He wasn’t almost killed by Ron Lyle. That’s nonsense.

You do know that Foreman got up and KO’d Lyle?

If Foreman was “almost killed” then that doesn’t happen.

Okay… let’s say this, Lyle who punched about as hard as Tyson made GF look helpless and almost stopped him, no one disagrees that’s the hardest win of his 70s career right? I’m not disputing his heart, as he himself said Lyle was the hardest puncher he met he couldn’t help going down, that’s around or very close to the limit of his chin… Tyson could hurt him like that but finish it, GF was dandelion fresh in rd1 and almost got bodied by a right hand… Tyson comparatively in and around his prime ate punches from similarly hard hitting individuals with no worries, Douglas stopping Tyson is a lot like Ali stopping Foreman. It should matter this much about MT having a better chin, faced more punchers and a larger number of legit fighters without every looking like GF did vs Lyle.

Why are you arguing over an inch ? Like thats some major difference ?

He's listed as 6'3 on wiki and boxrec and there's no reason to believe he isnt 6'3 looking at him.

Here's Ruddock nose to nose with Michael Dokes @16:00 who's listed as 6'3 and Ruddock actually looks a tad taller.
