That makes Ellis' the biggest experience gap faced by an Olympian since Howard Davis Jr. in 1997...and nearly thrice as large as Katie Taylor's gap (the next-longest gap for a female Olympian).

 

Speaking of Nicola "The Lioness" Adams.... Salinas actually held her to a draw in Adams' fifth pro bout. Salinas also has a draw and close MD loss to Naoko Shibata (but those were a decade ago). She's no bum...as Aburius pointed out, a very ambitious pro debut opponent.

And she may be 36 but Ellis herself is already 30.
