Holyfield is black. Tunney is hella scared of black men. Holy, by KO, early, Gene Tunney has **** all for him but racist fanboys who are scared to admit they uphold old racism because they are racists.
Lay off the drugs, brother. God loves you and wants the best for you. Gene Tunney was a great boxer. Ahead of his time. but 190 lb. Holyfield was better than OLD Dempsey, who dropped Tunney with an exquisite combination.
If you wanna find the real racists look for those that won't shut up about it ... Tunney was better than Holyped. Cry more.
Please don’t be like that, that’s stupid. Tunney is a far better boxer than Holyfield for pure skill and at 190lbs a green Holyfield with basically volume going for him? GT by UD most likely, I have always thought Archie Moore, James Toney and Gene Tunney beat CW Holy… Also let’s not be silly I don’t think a heavyweight champion is “scared” of anybody was he a bigot and racist man? Yes but not “scared” of black men lol.
I wouldn’t say “ahead of his time” where are his skills common today? He wasn’t a fish coming out of the water to walk, good fighters have existed in all eras all the way up until the 2000s we had horrid looking (key word looking) fighters like Manuel Medina, swap Medina to black and white and Louis in HD colour… good complete skills are uncommon in basically every era, punching properly is too.
So says a bunch of outspoken racists whose books we now know are full of falsehoods sourced from newspapers they published themselves likewise filled with falsehoods? I did word it poorly though, I will give you that. My attack was not really meant for Gene, it was meant for the history keeping done around Gene Tunney. I say it often, but it did it with a purpose, me being the man who broke Harry Greb drawing the colorline in 2025 should be unacceptable. How do you feel strongly about "knowing" anything about Gene? Your best historians range from lying conmen to inept web surfaces repeating what the conmen said because they themselves do not know how to source. If Harry Greb, Gene Tunney, or Jack Dempsey, were as well known as you like to claim they were then it would be difficult to break a legend that has existed since they were alive. It was not. It was not difficult for me to disprove Jack Dempsey-Jack Johnson rumors. It was not difficult for me to disprove Harry Greb never drew the colorline legend. My only answer I can give myself to explain the struggle to let go of a history you know was unfair and poorly kept propaganda at best is because that history is for some reason or another dear to you. If I take a critical eye to it, then I am criticizing, but the facts remain the same, we are not arguing if the colorline existed or racism existed or propaganda existed, we disagree on how to handled the known existence of it.
You called folks and said, my impression (and anyone else who reads your post) was it was directed at fellas here on the forum? Quote: “racist fanboys who are scared to admit they uphold old racism because they are racist.” Maybe next time be clear you’re not just saying everyone who is a fan of Tunney is racist chill out brother.
Agreed. I think the views of guys back then definitely up for dispute and discussion; I also think they were men of their era, so it's a little hard to judge them by standards of other than their era. But calling fans of Tunney racists... lol. I'm fan of some musicians, athletes, actors, and authors who hold views I don't agree with. Doesn't mean I am [whatever word you'd like to apply to those people]. Even if Tunney WAS some horrible racist, that doesn't mean his fans are.
Holyfield is physically too much for Tunney. Tunney not strong enough to hurt him and not fast enough to avoid him. Evander over takes him in 6 round stoppage.
Why are we calling people names that disagree with us?? This is the problem with the country lately. We talk in these chats to have fun analyzing and forget about the world and politics. Why introduce it. If you disagree with someone’s analysis put forth your counter proof of why you think you’re right.
