I think we are all hoping for iron-chinned Allen to weather the storm and pull it out on this one!

Well yeah, in many ways it feels like tonight takes us right back six years to the Price fight, and Allen is a win away from headlining a PPV against Whyte or Chisora.

Yes I can smell a fight such as Dave Allen v Joey 12 on Box Office.

This fella showboating against a dude who’s won only almost half of his 15 fights… give me a break.

Hope Allen does it. What a ko that was against hype job Fisher. Never seen the Russian fight but I can tell by looking through his record he looks scarier than he is.

Yeah I’ve seen the media keep marketing him as the scariest man that’s ever lived, if anyone watches Kabayel beat him to submission and take one of his kidneys, and Guido school and stop him they’ll see he isn’t all that. Granted I’d say those two opponents are better than Dave, certainly Kabayel. But this is actually quite a winnable fight for Dave. He also isn’t convincing me that he’s trained properly for this fight, but at this point anyone expecting Dave to get in proper shape is a fool.

Hey, everyone was saying he was fat, out of shape and hadn't trained for the Fisher rematch too. He's 6 pounds lighter for this match. Even though it might not show, cleary he is taking it seriously.

If that's what happens then good luck to him. We know he's fringe British level at best, so does Warren and probably Dave himself. At this stage he's one defeat away from retirement so you can't blame him for chasing the money, whether it's getting blasted out in three rounds by Joshua or in six in a British title fight. He's livening up the domestic scene and he deserves a happy retirement.

Exactly — it’s like déjà vu with a different opponent. Back then it was beat Price, then Povetkin was supposedly on the cards, and after that, Joshua. Allen was overlooking Price, thinking he’d just get through the first 3–4 rounds, chin him, and then somehow beat Povetkin too.

I hope he wins tonight — got a bet on him myself, but I’ve also taken a boost on the other guy to cover it. Looking forward to Josh Padley as well; he’s full-time now, and there’s no shame in losing to Shakur the way he did on short notice.

I agree, but in the Price build-up he was talking about bashing up Povetkin once he got through Price, and whilst he comes across well, I think he’s been good value to himself rather than the sport. I mean, he’s had more opportunities than Rocky Balboa.

Hopefully he gets his moment tonight, and the big fight he should really be talking up is the Fisher trilogy. Get Fisher back in with five or six stiffs over six months, stick them both on the same card next year, and Fast-Car can do his thing. It’d probably end up a stadium fight on the undercard of Joshua v Fury.

Tbf as a heavyweight 6 pounds is basically taking a large dump. Or in Allen’s case simply not having that supersized KFC meal the day before the weigh in.

I don’t doubt he has trained hard but he clearly doesn’t take the nutritional side of it seriously. At the end of the day so long as his gas tank is ok it doesn’t matter. Pricey used to always look in physical shape but gas out after three rounds.

Why do British MCs always do the American accent?
