How does Jaron Ennis’ resume compare to Gervonta Davis

    As of right now how would you compare Boots’ list of opposition compared to Tank? Better, equal or inferior? Definitely not that strong for sure but hopefully he’ll have his chance to finally fight top level fighters next year like Ortiz, Murtazaliev, Fundora.

    Twink's is better but his CV is very smoke and mirrors heavy and he pulled a lot of those guys up in weight or they were champs long ago or at lower weights and he's been on WBA regular title strap season his entire career

    But to balance that out Super Boots was a huge 147 and Twink is not a big 135

    The Super Boots vs Lipinets fight wasn't even a fair fight. That was a 140 pounder vs a 154 pounder who held every conceivable advantage and physical advantage over him sans toughness. That's not to say Super Boots is lacking in that department but for Lipinets to soak up 6 rounds of power punching from the much bigger massive punching Super Boots the way he did was extremely impressive. How many 140 pounders could do that vs Super Boots?

    Likewise some of Twink's opponents had no right being at 130 or 135 vs a massive punching 135 pounder

    Super Boots doesn't have a good resume but it's not really his fault and we should see it improve hugely over the next few years, whereas, conversely, Twink is to blame for his being as poor as it is

    Davis' resume is better. He has fought ten world champions and has defeated nine of them. Ennis and his team deserve to be criticised for his lack resume. He has turned down offers from Crawford, Ortiz and Lopez. He needs to fight the top fighters at the new division, to compensate for those fights, which didn't happen.

    But how many legit world champions who were world champions at the weight he fought them at and in their primes? His resume is better but there's a lot of smoke and mirrors regarding that

    Pedraza, Cuellar, Gamboa (before at least), Santa Cruz, Hector Garcia were legit. Hugo Ruiz was past it. And Cruz and Rolly were gimmicky. I like Boots. He is extremely talented and is someone who wants to fight the best. Tank is completely irrelevent at this point. He clearly doesn't care anymore about his legacy or has desire whatsoever. I don't care about him at all.

    Pedraza was a legit champ at 130

    Cuellar was a 126 pounder who was campaigning at 126 and was paired up with Twink for a shot at the vacant WBA 130 belt despite that and coming off a loss and a 16 month layoff. Even worse they demoted the real champ Machado and made Twink the 'real champ'

    Gamboa was shot to bits and was the champ long ago

    LSC was legit but he was a 122-126 pounder and his only fight at 130 was vs a fellow 126 and if he wasn't he had been coming in at 127-128 for a long time

    Hector Garcia was a legit champ but it was at 130 and Twink dragged him up to 135

    Hugo Ruiz was a legit champ but that was down at 122 and he was a late replacement

    This is what I mean when I say smoke & mirrors

    Yeah, Twink has never had any intention of facing the elite and certainly not while they're in the primes, whereas, I believe Super Boots has every intention of doing so and will be doing so ASAP

    The Gamboa fight is interesting to me but I don't think it reflects well on Davis.

    Gamboa (38) tore his achilles tendon in round two and it still took Davis until round twelve to get the stoppage. Davis had and old, chinny one-legged guy and couldn't close the show until the end.

    Guess it doesn't matter now that he's sparring Jake "Sweet Sugar Hands" Paul.

    Tank wins by virtually of quantity over quality.

    He's never once fought an opponent that results in a unification and the ring belt being on the line.

    But he has a got a lot of good wins.

    Tanks is better but he has been a pro for much longer. Ennis is still unproven but at least he appears to be taking his career seriously and has ambitions to be great.
